Funding Terminology Overview
1. Funding Round – one of a series of funding events, usually indicated
by Seed, Series A, Series B, etc. Sometimes traunched (spaced out)
based on metrics or goals (for example: development milestones).
2. Angel – an individual who makes and investment personally into a
company.
3. Venture Capital – an institution who invests money into companies.
4. Types of Funding – Convertible Note (debt that converts into equity
later), Equity (normal or preferred stock), CrowdFunding
(preorders), CrowdFinancing (NEW! non-accredited investors),
RBF (Revenue Based Financing - % of Revenue)
