Nick: I like how you switch up the format of the first and last slides and make them match, good intro/conclusion. Amy: The opening slide is a little on the plain side, but it does the job.
Amy: Good example. I wonder if you could work this onto the opening page (maybe make it smaller?) Nick: I like the placement of this picture on the second slide, great example.
Nick: Good quote, really shows the importance of pictures and how adding to them will help. Pearce: maybe bullet this because it seems like a lot of text. Amy: "ameliorate" is the wrong word here. Use left-alignment for your text; centered text is a bit hard to read. But otherwise your intro effectively helps readers see the purpose of your presentation.
Pearce: add the internet Amy: Or rather: internet access
Amy: The text box goes over the slide on my version. I'm not sure why, but you may need to work a bit on the formatting. This tip is helpful. Nick: On my version the text is in the slide, not sure if you changed it or not. This is very useful to know most programs you need to import pictures.
Pearce: for some reason when I search Picasa it only says "Picasa - Official Site", but when I click on the website I can download it from there (it's just different than this). Amy: Instead of making readers search for it, why not just give them the main URL? (It appears to be: picasa.google.com) Nick: Agreed, giving the URL will be the most beneficial.
Nick: Maybe add in another step in between 2 and 3 that goes over some install troubleshooting. Some people are really computer illiterate. Pearce: oh this is what I clicked on, but I just clicked the main link from Google. Amy: I agree that some users might have a little trouble with this step. I wonder if you might want to focus only on the Mac version so that you can explain where to find the application and how to install it after it downloads?
Pearce: Got kind of confused here, maybe add more steps in explaining how to open it. But sometimes my computer is retarded so that could be it. Amy:
Nick: Maybe show what the screen looks like when loading, or when all the pictures are loaded onto the program.
Amy: Maybe add that the Text button is near the bottom (or better yet, circle it in red)
Amy: It's effective that you have the steps as the header for each slide and that you keep one step per slide, even when the step is short. But I wonder if you might find a better image, since you've used the arrow several times? Maybe show the photo of the two of you before you added text to it and circle where you clicked to start adding text? (In other words, your screenshots could illustrate how you made that photo you showed on the second slide) Nick: I agree with Amy. Good use of pictures for the most part. However, if you use a specific example from beginning to end (no text - to text on picture) it would be most beneficial I feel.
Pearce: I like the pic. Nick: Short, clear steps.
Amy: This screen shot is helpful. Maybe add that you'll explain each of these options on upcoming slides? Nick: I agree, since this is in slideshow format they may try doing all of these things before they move to the next slide. You should state you will explain it further.
Amy: I'm not sure what "prefer the fill of the text not show" means.
Pearce: and file save?
Pearce: I really liked your screen shots, they were very helpfully. Your directions were simple to follow except the open one. The slides are clear and not to cluttered, and not too boring. Good job! Amy: It's a good idea to have a concluding slide like this, but I wonder if you might show a final product of your steps. Maybe the steps could include screen shots of you actually adding text to a new photo (not the one from the beginning) and the last slide could show the final result? Viewers would find it helpful to visualize what they can potentially create using these steps. Nick: Very helpful and I was able to add text to pictures without any problems really. Most of the screenshots were helpful but some were a little ambiguous. I think that starting with an unfinished product and moving on through all the steps with that example would be very helpful. Besides that great work!
