The document discusses the learner's experiences using various software programs for a school project. For Final Cut Pro, the learner realized their early work was poor and learned skills like fading, proper screen size, file organization, and frequent saving. Motion was initially difficult but the learner gained skills like animation and importing into Final Cut Pro by spending time with tutorials. Live Type was found to be limited and more suitable for presentations than film. Garage Band was the most enjoyable as the learner experimented with fitting songs and sound effects to their film project.

What have you learnt about technologies from the moe
1.
2. To start with final cut pro was very simple and easy to use as I used it in my last
year of secondary school. However I realised that my work I did then was very
poor and not to a good standard, so to make it much better the second time
round I have to familiarise myself with all the tools and tricks to make it the
best I could. Before my cuts where were very similar and I didn’t fade at all as I
didn’t know how to, however I then learnt how to fade in and fade out and used
it in my film when necessary. I also learnt to make sure I start with the right
screen size as previously I didn’t bother and see why it was need but I then
found out that it did matter as it had to fit the screen size or it would come out
poor and not in shape. I also learnt to create folders and name them to make
editing much easier as I had a lot of clips and many unneeded clips. However I
found that final cut pro was very unreliable as many times my work closed with
no warning what so ever so I learnt to save my work every 10 minutes or so. I
also learnt how to chance lighting and alter it to my preferences.

3. Motion was a very hard software to use as I had never used it before and it was
very complicated to use. So I spent a lot of time playing about with all the tools
and seeing what I could do with it all, after a while I got used to it an started
making out first institution logo. I learnt how to apply text make shapes and
how to animate them to make them move around. However after I had finished
I learnt that I could do a much better as it didn’t look to professional, so I then
went onto YouTube and watched a lot of tutorial video's in order to make it the
best I could. I learnt how to import it onto final cut pro and add sound affects if
needed. Overall motion was the most I learnt out of all software's as the rest
where pretty straight forward and simple to use. All I had to do was give motion
time and play about for it for a while to get the best out of it. I also believe this
was the best software to use as I could do many different things to make my
film the best it could be.
Motion
4. I found live type to most useless and amateur software out of all I used. The
main reason for this was I had limited effects I could use on the text and most
looked like it could be done on Microsoft PowerPoint. However I did learn a
few things such as I had learnt on this software was how to import the text onto
my film and put it onto of my film to show the characters names. I also learnt
that I had to change the screen size to the exact size of the final cut pro size or
my text wouldn’t fit. Overall this software wasn’t really suitable for my final film
and didn’t really do me no favours.
Live Type
5. Garage band out of all the software's was the most fun to use. Reasons for this
was playing around with the application meant playing around with different
songs and seeing if they fit. However because it was my first time using it I
didn’t have a clue what I was doing a created a very poor piece of music.
However after awhile I learnt how to match things together to make it sounds
good and fit to my film. Garage band wasn’t a application where you had to
know what you was doing you just had to put songs together and see if they
fitted. Things I had learnt was on this application was how to download the
song onto apple iTunes and then imported onto my final cut pro timeline. I
also learnt how to make sound effects and put it into my work sounds such as
police sirens and inner city sound.
