1) How are you drawn into the world of the film story?
You are drawn intothe worldof filmstory by the pre-credits (opening scene)
when the two characters share a dialogue, it gives a glimpse of what the
narrative couldbe about alsowhen they bothget their guns out and threaten
the people in the diner. It automatically interest the audience as to why they
did what they did (action and enigma codes).
2) How is this developed?
The music in the title sequence, is very energetic, this helps the continuation
of what action happened in the pre-credits (opening scene) also when the
title are being shown on screen, the titles typography are quite plain and
simple. However, from the music it keeps the title interesting for audience
throughout the whole title sequence.
3) How do you know that the opening titles are over and the film proper is
starting?
When we see the freeze frame, we knowthat the pre-credits (opening scene)
are over and the title sequence is about to begin because the music starts
and when the title sequence ends, the music ends too, therefore givesa clear
indicationtothe audience that the filmis about to begin. Furthermore, when
it shows the second last titles going up from the black screen and when it
quickly shows the last titles of the "Casting By" and then the final black
screen, the audience also know the title sequence has ended and the film is
about to begin.
4) How much of the actual film story do you know from the opening 2-3
minutes?
4. In the opening scene, we can tell that the narrative could be to do with
crime, as there are quite iconographic props like a gun to reinforce the genre
of thriller. However, we don't exactly know what type of storyline the film
will lead to but the audience can guess that it might be about lots of death
and murders etc.
