2. A CASE STUDY
We have to provide the automatic solution using a COBOT arm. The student
needs to design a gripper for the COBOT arm that will do the gripping part
and in general flow chart for the said operation
3. Possible Solution
Case can be solved by using an COBOT arm with a gripper.
This gripper is designed in the solid edge software.
This Gripper is Designed to unload the finished component
form Thermoset Molding Machine, then Clean the Mold by
air gun & then Load the raw material to the mold.
4. Purpose of Presentation
The presentation may be intended to showcase the design and functionality
of the gripper and how it can be used in an assembly task.
It is also intended to persuade the audience of the benefits and efficiency of
using a cobot arm gripper for assembly tasks, or to motivate the audience to
consider using a cobot arm gripper in their own assembly processes.
Additionally, the presentation may aim to educate the audience about the
design and operation of the gripper and its potential applications
in assembly tasks.
5. COBOT Arm
• What are cobots? Cobots, or collaborative robots, are lightweight automated
robot arms that can handle a range of manufacturing, assembly and packing
tasks.
• What can a cobot do? A cobot can handle everything from bin picking to
palletizing to quality control to welding – and more.
• What are the most common cobot applications? Material handling, assembly
and ‘pick and place’ account for 70% of cobot applications.
6.
7. GRIPPER
Grippers are devices that enable robots to pick up and hold objects. When
combined with a collaborative robot (or 'cobot') arm, grippers enable
manufacturers to automate key processes.
9. PARTS OF COBOT ARM GRIPPER
1. RACK
Rotates With Gear after meshing, and Also moves the Jaw, which do Gripping of
that Component during work.
10. 2. BOLT
It is used to Join the Two Components Mechanically
11. 3. PISTON
A piston aids in the transformation
of heat energy into mechanical
work and vice versa.
12. 4. CONnecting ROD
A connecting rod, also called a 'con
rod', is the part of a piston
engine which connects the piston to
the crankshaft. Together with
the crank, the connecting rod
converts the reciprocating motion of
the piston into the rotation of the
crankshaft.
13. 5. CRANK
Crank used to Connect the Piston and
connecting Rod. It Transfer
movement From Piston to the
connecting Rod.
15. 6. BASE
Base is the Main Body of the COBOT
Gripper, Which Holds all the
components of the Gripper. And it
Connects the various Parts
mentioned Above
17. FLOWCHARTOF 2-JAWGRIPPER
1. A 2-jaw gripper is the most basic type of robotic arm gripper. It has two
opposing “fingers” attached to the jaws of the gripper module.
2. These fingers move in toward the center to grasp an object aligned with the
middle of the gripper.
3. 2-jaw grippers provide an equal amount of force from each finger.
4. The jaws of this type of gripper can accommodate a wide range of objects of
different shapes and sizes. This impressive level of versatility is one of the
pros of using them.
18. WORKING
Our Design of Gripper is Based on the Application of Pneumatic arm. The
Power Develops in the Pneumatic Arm Actuate the Piston Outside. Piston is
connected to the Crank, Crank drive the Connecting Rod Resulting, Torque
Produced in the Gear that moves the Rack, Resulting Jaw moves and Grip to
the components in the Assembly.
A pneumatic cylinder is a mechanical device that converts compressed air
energy into a reciprocating linear motion
Our Model is Pneumatic Gripper.
20. PROS
Affordability: 2-jaw grippers are usually
more affordable than 3-jaw grippers.
User-Friendly: These grippers are easier to
automate because of their simple design.
21. CONS
Less surface area to distribute gripping force to
workpiece.
Does not provide ability to center workpiece like
3-jaw gripper.
Can lack versatility in some applications
