Objective: Apply knowledge and understanding to show
Coursework: G324 how meanings are created when analysing
media products and evaluating your own practical work.

The unit is marked out of a total of
     100 marks:
   • 20 marks for the planning and
     research and its presentation;
   • 60 marks for the construction;
   • 20 marks for the evaluation.
Objective: Apply knowledge and understanding to show
Coursework: G324 how meanings are created when analysing
media products and evaluating your own practical work.

In the evaluation the following questions must be
      answered:
   • In what ways does your media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media
      products?
   • How effective is the combination of your main product
      and ancillary texts?
   • What have you learned from your audience feedback?
   • How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
      stages?
Objective: Achieve a level 4 for evaluation
Outcome: A presentation using prezi demonstrating the connections between their final film
opening and ‘real’ film openings in the same genre

                          Demonstrating your knowledge of genre

 How did you adopt conventions?
 How did you challenge them?

 CHALLENGE TODAY:
 Using information from your blog-
Create a prezi (presentation) to give to the class which
visually demonstrates the ways in which you used
conventions and ways in which you deliberately challenged
 conventions of your chosen genre.
This should have print screens from films that inspired your
film opening and print screens from your own film.
Objective: Achieve a level 4 for evaluation
Outcome: A powerpoint demonstrating the consistency

         Creating a promotional package

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

 CHALLENGE TODAY:
Imagine you have to deliver an ‘Apprentice Style’ pitch. Write a
pitch explaining the decisions that you made about the look of the
three elements to your project: music video + advert + digipak.
Create a Prezi – At the centre of your presentation - import your
music video. Around the outside place the other elements: advert
and digipak. Add in your pitch to connect the three elements.

Objective: Achieve a level 4 for evaluation
Outcome: A short group video recording audience feedback

                               USING AUDIENCE FEEDBACK

What have you learned from your audience feedback?
   (PREPARING FOR EVALUATION)
How are you setting up opportunities to gain it?

   CHALLENGE TODAY:
Show your footage so far to someone else in the class.
Prepare some questions to gain some constructive ways to
   help you improve your work.
Create a short video (in a journalist style) of the process
summarising at the end what your group have learnt and
   how you intend to progress.
Objective: Achieve a level 4 for evaluation
Outcome: A post showing the skills and progression made across the project

                           The importance of skills development

How have your skills developed over the course of
  the production.
  CHALLENGE TODAY:
Take photos of you using the equipment – editing
  machines, tripods, cameras etc.
Add the photos to your blog with a description of
  what you learnt.
