The top five causes of premature death in England are cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, and liver disease. These five illnesses account for over 150,000 deaths per year among people under 75 years old, and about two-thirds of those deaths are considered preventable. The document discusses lifestyle risk factors that contribute to these illnesses, such as smoking, lack of exercise, poor diet, obesity, and excessive drinking. It emphasizes that preventing these illnesses through healthy lifestyle choices could significantly reduce premature deaths in England each year.
3. Introducation
• A child born today should expect to live a longer, healthier life
than ever before. Yet, a Government report, Living Well for
Longer (PDF, 1.6Mb), blames the top five killers for more than
150,000 deaths a year among under-75s in England alone
and the Department of Health estimates two-thirds of them are
entirely avoidable.

cause of death in England
each year and the leading
cause of disability.

• The three main causes of liver disease are heavy drinking,
obesity and viral hepatitis .
11. Conclusion
• In conclusion we can avoid 75% approx. of the top five
killers by health lifestyle and early diagnosis , also at
least 50% by avoiding smoking and drinking .What's
more , that will save Millions of pounds wasted
on treatment of them.
