Australia Day is celebrated on January 26th. Originally called Anniversary Day, Day of Mourning or Foundation Day, it marks the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788 and the raising of the flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Captain Arthur Phillip. Captain Phillip's first wife Margaret died in 1792 and he later married Isabella Whitehead. After his death, Captain Phillip was buried at St Nicholas Church. The passage includes an image of a statue of Captain Arthur Phillip and mentions Cathy Freeman, Australia's famous Indigenous Olympic athlete.
