WORKSHOP 5th AND 6th SEMESTER (TEACHER: MIRTA HALPERT)
Project: Store centre for recyclable materials and a
housing development
The assignment consisted of creating an urban analysis based project
related to typical characteristics of the land use of the sector, i.e.
industrial, railroad, housing, and vacant lot sector. The latter was
where the division between aforementioned sectors was most vividly
marked.
A notorious activity at the site consisted of the waste collection
especially in areas that were used for illegal waste dumping.
My proposal consisted of creating a link between the waste collec-
tion and the city as the city and the railroad field seemed pretty
separated.
To achieve this effect I came up with the idea of a window, creating a
project that would show the concentration of various waste
collecting activities, activities related to storing recyclable materi-
als as well as the housing development in the sector, showing all
the activities of the area in the city.

Project: Literary Café and Mineral Museum
The assignment composed of creating a
project for Bellavista neighbourhood. This
project was to be based on the previous
urban analysis of the area.
The group proposal was to intervene in
the core block of the neighbourhood
which apart from being an abandoned and
neglected area was also a place that
contained fundamental elements of the
neighbourhood, i.e. buildings of historical
and cultural importance.
My project was the opening of the block
creating a public square inside with a
museum and literary café favouring
transparency and permeability across the
facade.
