line of yachts designed by Greg-
ory C. Marshall N.A. Ltd., the Calixas 105 Sea Trials 1
Calixas 105 will be delivered in
Miami, Florida after undergoing
extensive sea trials in the South
China Sea. All projected per- 45 Meter Expedition 1

Miami will attend the Miami Boat
show in February 2007 where
Calixas Founding Partner Montie
Twining and designer Greg Mar- Snowbird 73 Launched 2

inspiring program.
VVS1 Nears Comple- 2
The project was among the tion
first in the world to be com-
pletely designed and modeled
using state of the art 3D solid GCMNA Design Interior 3
modeling. This process greatly on Horizon 130
improved accuracy and speed of
the project. It also allowed ad-
vanced visualization through the On The Drawing Board 3
use of computer generated exte- 40m Motor Yacht
rior and interior renders.
All aspects of the Calixas
105 were strictly controlled by 47 Meter Motor Yacht 3
GCMNA to ensure all systems
and construction passed DNV
approval making it one of the
most robust sea going yachts on Yacht Sales 4
the seas today. More info at www.calixas.com Photographs by Neil Rabinowitz

Vision 68 SeaTrials—Classic MotorYacht
The Vision 68 embodies a
new concept in cruising. Devel-
oped by Gregory C. Marshall
Naval Architects and Vision
Yachts of Taiwan, the Vision 68
was successfully launched early
this month and is now com-
“Vacuum infused
mencing sea trials.
The wide 20’6” beam gives
light-weight hull
the Vision 68 the room and feel
of a much larger yacht and al-
and superstruc-
lows very innovative arrange-
ments which include a forward ture”
master, two VIP Guest State-
rooms and a media/kids state-
room plus an aft stateroom for
either crew or additional guests.
“Retired Sailor III” — 73’ MotorYacht Launched
Retired Sailor III is an ad-
vanced, electrically propelled
aluminum motor yacht designed
“Diesel by Gregory C. Marshall.
Similar in concept to some
Electric large commercial ships, all
power onboard RS III is gener-
ated by Glacier Bay’s innovative
Propulsion” “Ossa Powerlite” system.
Modeled entirely in 3D
CAD, construction time and
errors were minimized.
VVS1 nears completion at Alloy yachts
VVSI, which took its name from the diamond industry, was designed for world
exploration by Gregory C. Marshall Naval Architects.
Fully fueled, this vessel has an extended range of 3110 nautical miles. One of two
tenders, a 6.5 metre craft, is equipped for serious fishing and diving along the route.
The interior finishes are modern, minimalist, with bamboo and ebony floors and
lime-washed walls. A Teppanyaki bar is located on the Flybridge and full-sized gymna-
sium and cinema on the Bridge Deck. This yacht will accommodate eight in luxurious
comfort.
VVSI will be launched by its builder, Alloy Yachts, in March 2007.

GCMNA Provides Full CNC Ready Interior Design for Horizon 130
GCMNA is well into the Interior Design and Interior Engineering Drawings for Premier Yachts on Hull #2 of the Horizon 130. GCMNA has done
all the Naval Architecture and Engineering for the first 2 Horizon 130’s and has now been tasked to provide Premier Yachts with a fully CNC Ready
Interior Package. Along with the Interior Engineering Drawing Package, GCMNA is also providing all the Interior Decorating Design for the Ameri-
can Owner.
On the Drawing Boards — 40m MotorYacht
This project came with two primary criteria:
create something different than the fleet and
bring the outdoors indoors for a better and
more entertaining cruising experience. The
“Bringing yacht features full height glass in most spaces,
with continuous teak decks both inside and
the out. Shown here is the bridge, featuring a
walk around helm console and unobstructed
outdoors 180 degree views. This layout is made possi-
ble by advanced technology in safety glass that
inside” is fully Class approved.
GCMNA and McMullen & Wing of New New Zealand join forces on 47m Project
GCMNA will be providing a complete 3D de-
sign package on this 47m Displacement Yacht
to be built at McMullen and Wing of New
Zealand. This design package will allow the
yard to go straight to construction with the
shop level information provided. The hull will
be steel and have aluminum superstructure.
The layout allows for 5 lower staterooms,
crew accommodation for 10, plus a Captain up.
Spaces are all well thought out and provide a
very open feeling. GCMNA will lead the design
and will work closely with McMullen & Wing’s
engineering department to get them intimate
with the design. Construction is to start in mid
2007.

GCMNA Taking 3D Design to the Next Level
Images above represent some examples of our 3D modelling
GCMNA have spent the last few years investing in Software, Training and Part Library Building to a level at which we are now a Leader in 3D Yacht
Design for all disciplines of Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, Machinery, Interior and Structural. With this level of information we build the
yacht “Virtually” before the drawings are sent to the shipyard. This level of detail saves the yard countless hours because the majority of conflicts
or interface problems are solved at the design office—making the construction process more efficient. The bi-product of this “Virtual Building”
is that all material and equipment have weight properties allowing a “live” or “living “ weight estimate which is one of the most critical variables in
Naval Architecture.
