  2. 2.  Over the past three decades, Greg Angle has built a successful career as a healthcare executive, currently serving as the president of HCA Mountain Division, where he is responsible for 10 hospitals in three states. A sports enthusiast, Greg Angle enjoys spending his free time skiing. Skiing carries a number of health benefits. A major part of skiing is staying balanced on the slopes. Practicing balance, of course, improves overall coordination, but it also is a core exercise. The body naturally uses its stomach muscles when balancing, and skiing engages these core muscles, resulting in better spine stability. In addition to working the core, skiing strengthens the joints and knees.
  3. 3.  This not only makes skiers’ legs stronger, but it also can diminish the likelihood of osteoporosis and knee damage. The overall workout provided by skiing results in more than just stronger muscles. It benefits the cardiovascular system by increasing the heart rate and promoting blood flow. Additionally, on a typical six-hour skiing day, many skiers burn up to 3,000 calories. This means that regular skiing can help individuals shed and keep off excess weight. Skiing trips also promote better eating and drinking habits because skiers need to be conscious of how they refuel and hydrate their bodies.
