INFORMATION FOR PATRONAGE
WHAT IS IEEE?
The IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) is an international technical-professional organisation that was
created in 1884 in the USA and is dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of engineering in the fields of electricity,
electronics and computing. It is a non-profit organization that works towards increasing prosperity on a worldwide level,
promoting value- producing engineering based on technological development, integration and sharing of applied knowledge for
the benefit of humanity and professions.
The IEEE will be essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere, and will be universally
recognized for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions.
WHAT IS IEEE HEALTHCOM 2013?
IEEE HEALTHCOM 2013 (e-Health Networking Applications and Services) is fully sponsored by the IEEE Communications
Society. It aims at bringing together interested parties working in the health care field from around the world to exchange ideas,
to discuss innovative and emerging solutions, and to develop collaborations. E-Health is defined as the cost-effective and
secure use of information and communications technologies in support of health and the related fields, including health care
related services, surveillance, literature, education, knowledge, and research, both at the local site and at a distance. It will
make personalized medicine possible and affordable in the near future. The adoption of e-Health technologies in medical fields
creates huge opportunities yet lots of challenges still need to be accomplished to build reliable, secure, and efficient networks
or platforms with great flexibility.

CONFERENCE GOALS
The goal of the conference is to bring together international representatives of academic areas, the civil service, businesses and
other entities. Representatives from other relevant sectors will also be present in order to supply a challenging environment
where development of strategic responses will be promoted to address topics related to scientific research, engineering,
creativity and entrepreneurship, focusing also on measures that help deal with the economic crisis.
During the course of the conference it will be possible to discuss short term and long term concerns, both in terms of public
and private institutions, relating to such aspects as research and development, higher education and scientific innovation. This
will be an opportunity for participants to discuss and evaluate current and future critical aspects related to using science and
technology to promote shared economic and social prosperity, both nationally and internationally.

The organisers of IEEE HEALTHCOM 2013 have prepared and selected a series of opportunities for large, medium, and small
enterprises in view of enriching the event, guaranteeing domestic visibility, but mostly international visibility, thereby optimizing
the return on their investments. We are counting on the presence of 1000 people from all sectors of activity and professional
classes, giving our sponsors the opportunity to expose their brands through messages, ideas and models in all of the event’s
promotional material (banners, folders, badges for all participants), the event website and mailing to the participants. Space for
setting up the stand shall also be made available with details to be provided at a later date. Passes for participating in the event
shall be granted.

COFFEE BREAKS
The conference coffee breaks will take place close by the exhibition area.
Sponsoring one or several of the coffee breaks will give the sponsor the following visibility:

CONFERENCE POCKET PROGRAMME
