  1. The Hand of the Lord time is a time where guys can share what the Lord has been doing, how has the lord “shown up” in your life and ministry? It is also a time where you can share where you need to feel the Lord’s touch in the near future about specific issues. Encourage the guys to track these prayer requests and to be proactive in praying for the guys in the roundtable
  2. This is the second level of Koinonia Connection. In this experience, keep the same groups, 2, 3 or 4. Have them share something from their past, a defining moment or a value that they stand for. Have them do this in 45 seconds or less and then to be quiet. The idea is for the others they are matched up with are then to ask questions, with the idea of “peeling the onion.” Empathic listening is the idea here with a view of getting to know more about their group.
  3. Have flip chart paper attached to the walls of the meeting room. Make sure that there are markers for all. Have the participants go around the room and recount different positive events that have happened in the life of the church. “Unpack” those events after you have finished recording them on the flipchart paper. The idea is to look back and smile at the things that the Lord has accomplished.
  4. A good passage to use, particularly 2:10, the above is my paraphrase.
  5. Have the participants work through this by themselves, then build a list of the things that were raised.
  6. List those items that are identified on a flip chart. Rank order them in order of importance. The ranking may be achieved by each person listing them 1 the most important and then down the line. Read each issue, then record the number the issue was given by each person, the lowest total is shows the overall thinking of the group.
  7. Address each of the items identified using the SPECIFICS process.
  8. There is a one page and a 2 page version of this form. Use the 2 page; it allows more space for writing.
  9. List the issues and the plan for solution and identify timeline for completion of the solution

  12. There is the right now, then the longer term solutions to accomplishing the vision. Develop a strategy for casting the vision w/ the congregation.
  13. Do the hard work of developing the above. Use web searches to see what some of the other churches have done. Make sure they are short enough to remember easily, but comprehensive enough to represent what they need to represent.
  14. The Acronym “Specifics” is a useful tool to assist in the remembering of the process of diagnosing and then generating solutions to problems that “draw our mind” to them. This is unpacked further in discussion around the KANI worksheet, next
