isn’t a poor area if they can afford to do that.

6. • This screen grab could show that the family is lower class because the man
isn’t at work and is just sitting around drinking tea/coffee. He is also wearing
a vest and this could show laziness and that he has nothing else to do e.g. a
job. He is clearly focusing on something because his eyes do not move from
that position throughout the scene.
• The camera is first focused in the girl in the background the goes out of focus
then goes back into focus on the husbands face to show the importance of
the character and to show that he is clearly not interested in the girl and
more interested in another object.
7. • The man is wearing a suit and could show importance so he could have a
important job and this means he could be middle or upper class.
• In the background there are houses in a built up area. This can show that he
lives in a middle class area.
• In this scene it is seen that he throws a briefcase on the backseat of his car. A
briefcase shows importance because business men and important people
normally are associated with briefcases.
• The shot starts as a long shot when he leaves is house then as he walks towards
his car it turns into a mid shot so you can see his body language and facial
expressions.
• Through the whole of the shot it doesn't’t cut at all until he gets into his car and
then gets out again.
8. • This scene shows the girl and her mum arguing over the fact that
she is on ‘report’. The husband comes in and clearly shows that he
is more interested on his emails for work than he is in his family.
This could be seen as middle class because middle class workers
are normally portrayed that they are more important in their jobs
than their family.
• The camera work keeps cutting from the mum to the girl to the
husband constantly. This shows tension between the family and
that they have problems between the husband and the wife.
