Presentation of the programs and activities that 5th Lyceum of Petroupoli participates in.

2. UNESCO
Our school belongs to
a network of schools
run by UNESCO
regarding human
rights and cultural
heritage.
All our cultural
activities are
connected with the
values supported by
UNESCO.

3. Cultural programs take place every
year in our school in order to
develop our students personality
and become active citizens in the
future

4. In the end of the school year we
present our activities to the local
society organizing cultural events
such as performances and
concerts.

6. Last year we put on an Aristofanes
comedy titled “Thermoforiazouses” in
the open theatre of Petroupolis with
great success.

7. Two years ago we organized a concert
with songs and folk dances in the
school yard where a big number of our
students participated and enjoyed
themselves.

8. Schools Ambassadors of
European Parliament
 We participate in a
European Program which is
called “ Schools-
Ambassadors of European
Parliament”.
 It is a long lasting program
since 2016 until 2018.
 Students are willing to join
the program because they
understand the meaning of
European citizenship and
learn their rights in the
community of Europe.
 In June 2018 they will
participate in a European
meeting of young people in
Strasburg ( European Youth
Event

volunteer
 a program with a huge
acceptance in our school
since last year.
 We cooperate with the
organisation “Childs
Smile
 our group of volunteers
helps people to have a
nice time together
playing games for two
hours twice a month in
our school since the last
year.

11. MENTORING
 We also have cooperation with the
University of Athens through a
program called “Mentoring” which is
running in our school for the second
year.
 Students of the Faculty of
Letters/Humanities practice teaching
in our classes and a team of our
teachers evaluate them.

12. Excursions in Greece and
abroad
We have organized several
excursions in Greece and abroad
We have been to :
 Cern in Switzerland
 Florence in Italy
 Konstaninople in Turkey
 Rome and Venice in Italy
 Toledo and Madrid in Spain

13. Our Garden
 There is also an environmental
program running called “Our School
Garden”.
 Students participate in activities in
order to make beautiful our school
and get familiarized with recycling.
