 If the people in your community have the same attitude towards your issue (it is
 an external conflict), then you can have a simple linear, or perhaps a complex linear
 Structure and a Dorothy world.

 If many people in your community have a different point of view about the issue
  (an internal conflict), you will probably have some variety of complex linear structure.

 However, whatever linearity you design, given that its

    Do you need to get permission to use FB or tweets in
    your doco?

     A grey area. My answer:

     Since there’s a recognised way to cite tweets, just
      cite them in your credits

     Since there’s no recognised way to cite comments
      on a FB wall, you have to ask permission.
