1. FIFA 15: 10 Leaked Player Ratings
http://www.gamebasin.com/news/fifa-15-10-leaked-player-ratings
An alleged leak from EA Sports has recently hit the internet which seems to show the player ratings
of a handful of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s finest squad members. It is impossible at this stage to
say if the information is accurate. The release date of September 23 draws ever closer so it seems
plausible that information like this could start to enter the public domain plus all the player ratings
seem fairly accurate with how the individual performed last season and in the World Cup. El Clásico
is going to be an insane clash next season as both giants of La Liga have spent eye‐watering
amounts of cash on replenishing their squads with some of the biggest talents in world football.
The thought of the strike‐force of Ronaldo, Bale and James Rodríguez going up against Messi,
Neymar and Suarez is the sort of match‐up football fans thought they would only ever experience
on FIFA Ultimate Team or in their dreams. Until the release of a demo we must take these leaked
ratings with a pinch of salt but nonetheless it is intriguing to see how the footballing talent in the
Spanish league may have been rated. Here are the 10 leaked FIFA 15 player ratings and what we
think:
10. Ivan Rakitić – 84 (FIFA 14 – 81)
2. Barcelona act with far more financial frugality than their La Liga rivals Real Madrid. Rather than
making gigantic €100‐million offers for players, they tend to act more strategically. This was
exemplified by the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea for £30 million and the signing of the £14
million Ivan Rakitić to replace him. Rakitić’s move from Sevilla to one of the league’s giants has
seemingly seen him rewarded with an improved FIFA 15 rating. Croatia’s lynchpin had an
exceptional season with Sevilla, ultimately scoring 15 goals and recording an impressive 17 assists.
Over the years he has also proven himself to be one of the world’s premier spot kickers, scoring
many impressive set‐piece goals. Though there is already a long list of players who will happily take
a free kick for Barca, Rakitić will most certainly shoot to the top. His excellent season for Sevilla
was cemented by some impressive performances in the solid Croatian side in Brazil. The headlines
may exclusively be about the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez but Rakitić is
bound to be a valued addition to the stacked Barcelona squad.
9. Toni Kroos – 86 (FIFA 14 – 84)
3. Kroos’ move from a German to a Spanish superpower has seen him receive a stat boost which now
has the 24‐year‐old as one of the game’s best players. According to the leaked ratings Kroos’
shooting has leapt from 83 to 89. This upgraded shooting statistic is most definitely consistent with
Kroos’ real‐life capabilities as the German is renowned as having one of the most venomous long
shots on the planet, capable of scoring from just about anywhere. Real Madrid parted with a
reported €25 million to bring the attacking midfielder over to Spain – this is a great bit of business
based on what we’ve seen Kroos do in recent times. After another impressive season with Bayern
Munich, Kroos looked even better in the World Cup. He may not have won the much coveted
Golden Ball for the best player of the tournament (despite being shortlisted) but the Castrol Index
ranking had Kroos as being the best player in Brazil. In particular the midfielder’s laser‐accurate
passing proved extremely effective, earning him the nickname ‘Garcon’ from the Brazilian fans for
serving up so many delicious balls. The thought of Bale and Ronaldo being on the end of Toni Kroos’
deliveries is scary.
8. James Rodríguez – 86 (FIFA 14 – 83)
10. Many had speculated that a quiet season by the Argentine’s standards would see him being rated
marginally lower on FIFA 15 but the leaked ratings suggested that Lionel Messi is still a 94‐rated
player. The World Cup card of Argentina’s star player rose up to a 98 rating (based on what
performance we’re not quite sure) but the standard FIFA 14 Messi is a 94. The leaked rating has
Messi as being largely the same but his shooting has been raised from 89 to 91 while his passing
has been improved from 84 to 87. Overall these changes seem justified as the Barcelona forward
is an underrated playmaker and it was ridiculous that his overall shooting wasn’t already in the 90s.
On balance the 27‐year‐old has done enough to justify retaining his lofty rating. A quiet season by
his standards still resulted in a whopping 28 league goals which saw Barcelona fend off fierce rivals
Real Madrid in La Liga. He may not have played well enough to get Argentina past Germany in the
World Cup final but he carried the team throughout the rest of the tournament, earning him the
coveted Golden Ball award (albeit controversially).
1. Cristiano Ronaldo – 94 (FIFA 14 – 92)
