-This fieldtrip will give you first hand experience of many of the ideas and topics
that we cover throughout the Geography curriculum at Seaford Head School.
-Experience a developing country
-Appreciate contrasting societies and diverse cultures
- Morocco is a country of contrasts- from the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, to
the heat of the Sahara, and from the mayhem of Marrakech to popular tourist
beaches
-We will be travelling with an expert on Morocco from STS the travel company
So what will our itinerary be? ...
4. Day 1
On arrival at Marrakech Airport we will be met by our tour guide. We will
then be transferred to our hotel accommodation in in the City Centre, a
10 minute coach ride. After checking in to the hotel lunch is taken in the
‘Medina’ (old city), a short walk from the hotel.
Evening: After dinner a visit to the famous square in the old city called
the Place D’Jamma El Fna.
5. Day 2
Depart for Imlil Valley in the High Atlas Mountains. On arrival in Imlil
Village take either a short trek on foot or by mule to visit a 'Tea House'
and explore the Armed Village and visit a Waterfall. Later, take a tour
around Imlil Valley.
6. Day 3
Travel to one of several mountain passes with your local mountain guide and
mules. After a picnic lunch, continue to explore the High Atlas Mountains.
You will discover the unique culture of the Berber communities and
understand how they adapt to life in this harsh environment
7. Day 4:
In the morning, enjoy a 'Hammam', a traditional Moroccan steam bath. Return
to Marrakech after lunch and do some shopping.
Fire-eaters and fortune-tellers, spice-markets and snake-charmers. Spicy
tagines and saffron couscous, freshly baked flat breads and sweet mint tea.
The ancient medina and the modern city, bustling streets and botanical
gardens. Marrakech is home to the largest souk in Morocco and one of the
busiest city squares in the world.
8. Day 5
Back to the UK……
Departure back to the UK from Marrakech Airport, full of happy memories!

• We have 30 places available on the tour on a first come, first served
basis.
• Total cost of the tour is £750 (fully inclusive of travel, food and
accommodation, excursions and insurance). The total amount will be
payable in instalments throughout the year.
• If you are interested in taking part – please return the form to student
services with a deposit of £150.00 by Friday 19th October. A parents
information evening will then follow.
