2. MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS AN
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER
· creating content (copywriting & graphic design) for social
media and websites devoted to organization and its activities
· searching and publishing information about internship offers
and volunteer opportunities for youth
· translating educational materials in the field of human
rights and environmental protection - English-Portuguese
translation
· supporting workshops in local schools: activities related to
the New Model for Youth Growth Through Conflict
Management project
· supporting IT workshops: combating social exclusion through
technologies and media
· promoting non-formal education and learning mobility
3. A FEW STANDOUT FACTS
During the project not everyone, including me, could go back to
countries for christmas time in December, so I decided to
participate in the Xmas Exchange program. Xmas Exchange let me
spend the holiday with a local family (on Christmas Eve was 16
family members!) with whom I learned more about Portuguese
tradition and let them know more about mine.

4. openEUropa
I was involved into the project openEUropa – an online
platform, which appears with the need to inform and train in
the field of international opportunities that are developed
for/with the youth in the region of Setúbal - many of these
opportunities have the form of youth exchanges, training
courses or international volunteering projects that have a
strong impact on the participants and communities and cause
social change. Therefore, I showed up at school and talked
about my experiences and the benefits of international
volunteering and learning mobility. During this meetings I
met wonderful young people and saw they point of view and
perspective.
5. Informatics initiation workshop for seniors – ICT Tea
ICT Tea approaches different themes and technologies for the
senior population in order to train them in the use of ICT in
an autonomous and safe way - on “ICT Tea” the participants
can learn how to use different devices (laptops, tablets or
smartphones), to communicate with different Internet services
(E-mail, VoIP or Instant Messages) or online public services
(Taxes, Social Security or National Health Services). Thanks
to participation in the workshops, I overcame the barrier of
public speaking and the fear of speaking in English and
Portuguese. It also awakened my desire to learn the secrets of
technology and I am currently developing professionally and
scientifically in the IT industry.
