SCHOOL LOGO
After 6 years of education in Frontier Primary, each and
every of our pupil will shine forth after being nurtured by
our caring staff in a dynamic culture of learning strongly
grounded in Values, Knowledge and Competencies.
SCHOOL LOGO
The word ‘Frontier’ urges
Frontierers to dare to forge
ahead to achieve
breakthroughs in boundaries.
Hence we have consciously
included the word in our logo to
remind us of our aspirations to
evolve and expand beyond the
status quo.
The pupil will shine brightly. The
pupils are also depicted as
leaping forward to welcome
the future with confidence and
competence. Only the pupil is
represented in orange to show
the school’s commitment to
focus on every child and
nurture him/her to the best
he/she can be.
A dynamic culture of
learning. This culture
includes a curriculum
which is progressive,
holistic and attuned to
the changing landscape
and diverse pupil needs.
This culture is also
enabled by committed
and caring staff. This
culture of learning
propels the child towards
excellence.
A strong foundation in
Values,
Knowledge
and Competencies.

Teaching Through the
Arts Programme
(TTAP@Frontier)
 It is a 2-year National Arts Council (NAC)
programme where it aims to use the arts as a
pedagogical tool for engaged learning because of
its exploratory, experiential and expressive nature.
 The NAC will provide an experienced artist to be
attached to the school to co-run the programme
with the teachers involved.
 There is also funding given by the NAC.
 At Frontier, we aim to use Arts (Drama) as a
pedagogy in Social Studies.
What is TTAP@Frontier?
 Through the use of drama, the pupils will
be able to experience the characters
and the storyline in the big books better.
 With that, it is hoped that the pupils will be
more expressive and learn more about
themselves, their friends and their
community better so as to become a
better citizen of Singapore.
Why Social Studies?
 Use of Arts (Drama) as a pedagogy in Social
Studies.
 To use drama to get the pupils to acquire the SEL
(Social & Emotional Learning) competencies to
become a better citizen:
 Self-Awareness
 Self-Management
 Social Awareness
 Relationship Management
 Responsible Decision Making
 To train teachers to adopt Arts pedagogy as a form
of teaching strategy across all subjects.
Programme Objectives:
Lesson scheduling
Pre-lesson observation
Ongoing reflection and lesson planning
sessions between teachers, artist and
NAC
Co-teaching of 4 Primary Two classes
Training of teachers
Post-project reflection and
documentation
Programme Framework:
The Artist being in the ‘hot seat’ as pupils
got to be the reporters…
Writing / Drawing their findings
after taking turns to interview their
friends on their favourite food…

Parental Feedback
But I believe that if the leaders care about
the parents' concerns and take efforts to
welcome the parents and make them feel
involved, it is a good start. Yup... hope you
find a great school for your kids too. I have
been very satisfied and happy with our
choices so far.
We don't go by blind faith either. We
attended the soft launch, we asked Qs, we
read up (Facebook and website of the
school) and asked around (try to find MOE
insider info). So far what we gleaned has
been favourable, so we decided to go for it!
For primary schools, between popular and
not so popular schools, I don't see too
much of a difference. At least, I don't
think it will be a significant difference. In
fact, I think being in a new school means
new facilities, and the teachers and P will
be able to give them lots of attention
because they are the only students they
have for now. And they are the pioneer
batch. There's something nice about being
pioneers.
I like that the staff are open and very good
at communicating with the parents too. I
believe this means the partnership between
the school and home will be close and
strong? 5
Parental Feedback
I am really quite impressed in what I see
in Frontier Primary. Think the school has
potential even though it is new. 11 Feb
I am staying near to Frontier Primary
School. So far, I am happy with the school.
The teachers are quite caring. My DD likes
her teacher very much. She was a little
disappointed when she gets to know her
Math teacher changed this year. ... 6 Jan
I thought the orientation was quite
well organised and the teachers
were quite well organised too. I am
pretty impressed by how professional
they were, considering the fact that
they only join the school in Dec (as
mentioned by the p during the soft
launch). Dec

Jen Yew Thanks for the info. I
do really appreciate the Blog
that has been created recently.
The information in the blog are
great and we are being fully
updated with what is happening
in the school. Hope to see more
pictures and info for the CNY
celebration... Is just a regret that
parents are not invited to watch
the concert, as my child is
performing on the stage. Thank
you

Great way to learn through play, actually
this is very effective and less stressful way
of learning. So nice to see our kids these
days have such conducive learning
environment. Keep it up FPS!

The pupils are also depicted as leaping forward to welcome the future with confidence and competence. Only the pupil is represented in orange to show the school’s commitment to focus on every child and nurture him/her to the best he/she can be. A dynamic culture of learning. This culture includes a curriculum which is progressive, holistic and attuned to the changing landscape and diverse pupil needs. This culture is also enabled by committed and caring staff. • 60. Teaching Through the Arts Programme (TTAP@Frontier)
  • 61.  It is a 2-year National Arts Council (NAC) programme where it aims to use the arts as a pedagogical tool for engaged learning because of its exploratory, experiential and expressive nature.  The NAC will provide an experienced artist to be attached to the school to co-run the programme with the teachers involved.  There is also funding given by the NAC.  At Frontier, we aim to use Arts (Drama) as a pedagogy in Social Studies. What is TTAP@Frontier?
  • 62.  Through the use of drama, the pupils will be able to experience the characters and the storyline in the big books better.  With that, it is hoped that the pupils will be more expressive and learn more about themselves, their friends and their community better so as to become a better citizen of Singapore. Why Social Studies?
  • 63.  Use of Arts (Drama) as a pedagogy in Social Studies.  To use drama to get the pupils to acquire the SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) competencies to become a better citizen:  Self-Awareness  Self-Management  Social Awareness  Relationship Management  Responsible Decision Making  To train teachers to adopt Arts pedagogy as a form of teaching strategy across all subjects. Programme Objectives:
  • 64. Lesson scheduling Pre-lesson observation Ongoing reflection and lesson planning sessions between teachers, artist and NAC Co-teaching of 4 Primary Two classes Training of teachers Post-project reflection and documentation Programme Framework:

  • 82. Parental Feedback But I believe that if the leaders care about the parents' concerns and take efforts to welcome the parents and make them feel involved, it is a good start. Yup... hope you find a great school for your kids too. I have been very satisfied and happy with our choices so far. We don't go by blind faith either. We attended the soft launch, we asked Qs, we read up (Facebook and website of the school) and asked around (try to find MOE insider info). So far what we gleaned has been favourable, so we decided to go for it! For primary schools, between popular and not so popular schools, I don't see too much of a difference. At least, I don't think it will be a significant difference. In fact, I think being in a new school means new facilities, and the teachers and P will be able to give them lots of attention because they are the only students they have for now. And they are the pioneer batch. There's something nice about being pioneers. I like that the staff are open and very good at communicating with the parents too. I believe this means the partnership between the school and home will be close and strong? 5
  • 83. Parental Feedback I am really quite impressed in what I see in Frontier Primary. Think the school has potential even though it is new. 11 Feb I am staying near to Frontier Primary School. So far, I am happy with the school. The teachers are quite caring. My DD likes her teacher very much. She was a little disappointed when she gets to know her Math teacher changed this year. ... 6 Jan I thought the orientation was quite well organised and the teachers were quite well organised too. I am pretty impressed by how professional they were, considering the fact that they only join the school in Dec (as mentioned by the p during the soft launch). Dec
  • 84. Parental Feedback Jen Yew Thanks for the info. I do really appreciate the Blog that has been created recently. The information in the blog are great and we are being fully updated with what is happening in the school. Hope to see more pictures and info for the CNY celebration... Is just a regret that parents are not invited to watch the concert, as my child is performing on the stage. Thank you Jen Tan26 April 2012 18:38 Great way to learn through play, actually this is very effective and less stressful way of learning. So nice to see our kids these days have such conducive learning environment. Keep it up FPS!
