1. When I Was
One - and -
Twenty
Rewrite

2. When I was in
kindergarten,
I heard someone
say,
“ Give coins and bills
away ”
But not your purity
away;
Give candies and cookies
away,
But keep innocence free.

3. But I was too young,
No use to say that to me.

4. When I was an adult
I heard an elder say,
“ The dream out of the
individual
was never given in
vain;
„Tis paid with tears aplenty
And sold for your true
heart.”

5. And I was an adult,
And oh,
„tis true, „tis true.
