This document provides a final evaluation of the student's work on a project creating advertisements for Canon. It summarizes the key stages of the process, including interpreting the brief, researching the client and target audience, developing ideas and creating drafts, and the main production stage. The student believes they created two successful ads that incorporated classic Canon elements while adding their own style to appeal more to a younger audience. They also reflect on how they applied lessons learned from a previous project. The only minor change they would make is removing a lanyard from the actor in one photo to look more professional. Overall, the student is proud of the work and how it will benefit the client.

Canon Project.
Final Evaluation.
This was my final product for my print advert. The idea behind the advert was a
young boy on his journey going to a beautiful place. This idea is meant to inspire
my audience to pick up the camera and begin there journey cos it can take you to
these fantastic places. For this advert I used an establishing shot at an eye level
angle this is because the establishing shot allows the audience to see the whole
scene including the scenery and also the actor. I feel like it is important you can
see the surroundings in the advert because this will intrigue the audience into
thinking how can I get there and be in his position. However I also believe it is very
important that my audience is able to see the actor as the actor is the same age
range as the audience this will show the audience it is possible for them to be in
his position on there journey. I wanted my actor to be in the central as this is
visually pleasing and it allows shows the path on my journey. I then added the
camera as I had seen this on other adverts and thought it looked really good and
also allows my audience to see the amazing things they can create so it will inspire
them to also start there journey so they can create and see places like that. I used
the tag line “you can canon” this is because I wanted to inspire my audience to
start there journey also it includes the canon font which will help my audience
recognise the client. The verb “can” is used to try and spark some activity from my
audience to pick up the camera and begin the journey. I also made this advert look
very bright and vibrant this was so it can stand out to my audience and as they are
young the bright colour will help gain there initial interest. For this advert I stuck
with the codes and conventions this is because I included canon branding such as
there cameras and title. As well the picture quality is very good and there is a
single actor which canon also use as well. The reasoning behind the single actor is
to show that it is your own special journey which is not the same for anyone else.
This is also helping canon achieving there goal of helping there audience and kids
overcome change and diversity in society

Final Evaluation
This is my final product for my canon magazine cover. The idea behind this
cover was to create a busy and colourful advert which will capture the attention
of my young audience. To create this advert I used a close up shot of the actor.
The reasoning behind this is I knew that there would be a lot of text covering or
around the image and too make sure my main actor stood out I made sure the
shot was close to him. This was shot at a low angle this is because I wanted
audience to look up to him and see the actor as a role model as he's already
started his journey and they should do. The lighting was extremely important for
this cover because I used the light to show the journey aspect as the light is to
symbolise the possibilities and hope which is now staring him in the face and as
you can see the actor is attracted to this light this is to show that on your journey
you will get so much opportunities. Also the low angle allows you to clearly see
the actors emotion and you can see how the actor is attracted to the
opportunities (the light) also as the actor is in the same age range as my
audience my audience can feel like this is them and they are able to do it
because he as done it at the same age. I wanted my advert to be extremely
busy this is because this will help it stand out and also as my audience is a wide
range of people it makes sure there is at least one thing on there which will
impress them that’s why there is so much text. For this advert I went against the
codes and convention however I did stick with a classic magazine template. I
went against the codes and conventions as my original isn’t something canon
would normally use however I think for me to be able to achieve new clients for
canon I need to change it up and make something that fits them more that’s why
I used a student as the actor and really focused on them for the image.
However I still includes things such as sub headings, pictures, price, issue
number which is in a classic magazine. Also I includes canon branding with the
big title in there classic font so my audience still know who the client is.

Canon Project.
Final Evaluation.
I began my journey for this project by firstly interpreting the brief. I believe this is a key stage because this is where I first began to understand who
my client was, who my audience is, what I will be creating and what's the purpose of the advert. Without this information I wouldn't know where to
start so this is one of the most crucial steps for my journey.
Next part of my journey was researching into my client. This included research into there background, how they run the business, what there
adverts normally look like, who there usual clients are and who they would like to target and what they want to get out of this project. This stage is
extremely important as I learn the clients needs and because of this I can then base my advert around this and can plan my next step for example
if I know my client wants to get more of a younger audience I will then plan my advert to be suitable to a more younger audience. I believe this
research I vital for my progress and success in this project and without it my advert would be no where near as good.
After this I then researched my audience. I believe this is the most important part of the whole project as this is where the whole advert is based
around. The main goal is that my audience likes the advert as if they like it they will buy it or invest in it which will then benefit my client. Without the
research into my audience I wouldn’t know that to include in my advert. For example I added extremely bright colors as I know my audience is
young and this will intrigue them into buying. So to do this I used things like surveys and focus groups to ask questions and to learn about them.
With this info I then build and design the advert around this to either help the client or impress the client.
At this point I then presented my pitch. The pitch is very important as this is here you first showcase your ideas and plans for the advert to your
audience. I found this extremely crucial as this allowed me to get a lot of feedback which I could then learn from and change my ideas so they
suited the audience better which then helped me please my client.
Pre Production is the next stage of the project. This is where I do majority of planning such as flat plans, risk assessments, location scouting,
resource list, acting list, calendars. Planning is very important as things go wrong and without planning this can get overwhelming so it is very
important to plan each stage so you can also meet the deadline for my client. As well this you can make drafts where you can get feedback from
your audience which is crucial in keeping you in the right direction so you make a good advert.
Finally the last part of journey (apart from this) is main/post production. This is where the advert is brought to life and all the research you did leads
up to this part. This includes editing, taking shots, designing the product. This is the main part of the project as this is where you put everything to
together to help your client do the best that it can do. One of the most important bits of post production is experimentation this is so important as
you can really learn from each style you try and you can see what works and what doesn’t. Also receiving feedback on these experiments really
keeps you on track to make the best advert possible.

Canon Project.
Final Evaluation.
Overall I am very pleased with my advert and I believe I have done a great job as I have
made 2 products that I personally believe would be very successful for canon. I included
classic canon features however I added my own style onto the adverts which I believe
would be better for this younger audience and would really help them bring in more
young clients. I believe I was only able to do this because of the past project I don’t which
was the NHS Better Health Campaign, I learnt so much on that project and I took the
positives from that campaign and brought them over to this one. However I also believe I
turned the negatives from the last campaign to the positives on this one as I had learnt
how to fix any little mistakes I made during that process. If I was too change anything on
this project it would be one little detail on my magazine cover which is the actor has his
lanyard on. I thought this would add more of a student vibe to the picture however now
looking back it actually looks a little bit unprofessional however I am still extremely proud
of both adverts.
