defined through fashion, music,
political movements and
entertainment in a certain period
of time.
5. 70s
Main groups of the 70s were Hippies, Skinheads
and Punks
Hippies often wore bright coloured cloths with
unusual styles such as bell-bottomed pants and
listened to psychedelic rock
6. Skinheads were known for wearing
long-sleeve shirts with jeans and
military boots they initially listened to
reggae until the lyrics became strongly
influences by Black culture and they
couldn‟t associate with them any
more. They then founded a new genre
called 2 tone.
9. 80s
In the 80s a group evolved from a club called blitz.
This “cult with no name” came from a club in London
called Blitz club, because of this club a new group of
young came up calling themselves New romantics or
blitz kids which borne from a fashion marriage of the
neoclassical and glam rock.
Blitz movement was an experimentation in androgynous,
sexually liberal stylization and new wave electronics.

10. The “New Romantics” type of music
evolved from electronic to pop/rock.

11. The „kids‟ style was influenced by punk.
Both genders used a lot of make up, such
as eyeliner and lipstick.
Many wore frilly fops shirts in the style of
the English Romantic period, or
exaggerated versions of upscale fashion.

13. 90s
In the 90s no new groups born but
there was new preference on music
style. The two types were Jungle and
Ragga.
Jungle, elements of house music and
rave culture; the most innovative,
original youth culture of the mid-1990s
14. Predominantly black, ragga music, a
dance-oriented form of reggae commonly
with the lyric spoken or 'chatted.
16. 2000 to 2013
The youngsters in the 21° century
have not really changed from the one
of the 20° century because we still
have different groups like hippies,
punk, etc.
What is different now is that there are
more group existing and people have
a bigger variety of music to listen to.
