On the last trading session of the Samvat Year 2070, Indian markets made a gap up open buoyed by positive global
cues. Bulls retained their hold on D-Street on sustained buying by funds and retail investors ahead of the auspicious
occasion of Diwali. Both barometer gauges moved nearly 0.8% to settle in green.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended at 26787.23, up 211.58 points or 0.80%. The 30 share index touched a high and a low
of 26818.33 and 26712.21 respectively. 21 stocks advanced against 9 declining ones on the benchmark index.
The CNX Nifty gained 68.15 points or 0.86% to settle at 7995.90. The index touched high and low of 8005.00 and
7974.55 respectively. 37 stocks advanced against 13 declining ones on the index.
The market breadth on the BSE closed in positive. Advancing and declining stocks were 1882 and 1078 respectively,
while 126 scrips remained unmoved
S&P BSE Sensex CNX Nifty
The S&P BSE Mid-cap index moved up to 9575.83 and gained 1.21% while S&P BSE Small-cap index jumped up by
1.17% to 10504.15.
The broader S&P BSE 500 index increased to 10206.95 (up 0.92%) and CNX 500 index rose to 6436.55 (up 0.92%).
The volatility as denoted by INDIA VIX lost 2.25% at 13.03 from its previous close of 13.33 on Tuesday.
Among global peers, US markets ended higher amidst upbeat quarterly results from Apple and talk of economic
stimulus in Europe. Asian markets too traded in green zone whereas European markets were exhibiting mixed trades.

On the BSE Sectorial front, Automobile (up 2.97%), Capital Goods (up 2.08%) and Healthcare (up 1.67%) were the top
gainers

Key Quarterly Results
HDFC Bank Q2 Net climbed to Rs 2381.46 crore as compared to Rs 1982.32 crore for the same quarter in the
previous year. The stock ended marginally down on BSE.
JSW Steel gained 2% on BSE after recording over 7-fold spurt in Q2FY15 Net at Rs 761.69 crore as compared to Rs
101.25 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. On consolidated basis, company’s Net profit stood at Rs
748.76 crore against a Net loss of Rs 115.55 crore in Q2FY14.
Biocon ended marginally down after its Q2FY15 consolidated Net slipped 0.09% to Rs 102.05 crore as compared to
Rs 102.15 crore in the same quarter previous year. However, its standalone Net recorded a steep rise of 90.23% in
the quarter at Rs 181.52 crore as compared to Rs 95.42 crore in Q2FY14.
Havells India plunged 3.43% on BSE after its Q2 Net fell 4.86% to Rs 119.61 crore as compared to Rs 125.72 crore for
the same quarter in the previous year.
Kotak Mahindra Bank climbed 5% on BSE after its Q2 Net jumped 26.09% to Rs 444.52 crore as compared to Rs
352.54 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
Dewan Housing Finance Corporation rallied 8.5% on BSE after its September quarter Net spiked 17.85% at Rs 152.19
crore as compared to Rs 129.13 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 4.03%), Tata Motors Ltd (up 3.54%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (up 3.44%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (up
3.43%) and Cipla Ltd (up 3.43%) were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (down 1.97%), ITC Ltd (down 0.65%), Coal India Ltd (down 0.58%), NTPC Ltd
