The purpose of this activity is to practice the professional role
of patient and professional advocate. In this activity, you will
write a letter to one of your congresspersons to inform them
about the role of nursing in promoting a healthy community. In
your letter you can discuss either the role of nursing in assisting
patients or their family members to manage symptoms of a
specific illness or you can discuss the importance of financial
support for nursing education as a potential source of healthcare
for a region. If you have another topic you want to discuss,
please talk with your instructor to determine whether it will fit
the assignment requirements.
