The characteristic quality of sound
that distinguished one voice or
musical instrument from another.

3. CLASSIFICATIONS OF SINGING VOICE
SOPRANO – the highest singing voice among women
ALTO – The lowest singing voice among women
TENOR – The highest singing voice among men
BASS – the lowest singing voice among men
THE BARITONE- it is an exceptional adult male voice. The
baritone has the range between tenor and bass.

4. CLASSIFICATION OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
Brass instruments – these are predominantly made of brass or metal. They are produce sound by means of
blowing through a mouthpiece.

5. WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS
These are basically made of wood. This main characteristic does not apply anymore at the present. Because
of innovations, some woodwind instruments are no longer made of wood but of metal.

sound than the flute.
