15. The best artist....steal
Go on crowdfunding websites and watch successful and even
unsuccessful videos and look at campaign descriptions and pledge gifts
and beg borrow and steal the best content and spin it to your campaign.
16. Must have a compelling
video...
Use your smart phone or hire a college student to help you put together a
compelling video
Let donors know what their contributions will do for you and your business.
You are not just presenting your business you are “selling” your business to
potential investors
(Theres a difference!)
You and your partners need to be in your video
Show a demo of your product even if it is just a sketch
17. Tap into your network...
Use all your social networks and email list
Tweet for Dollars
Ask friends/family to support your cause with donations or social capital
(Social Capital=ReTweets and sharing your campaign with their networks)
18. Be Authentic...
Be yourself! I am quirky and clumsy and I fell down chasing an ice cream
truck I never wanted to tell that story but people can relate to that. Best
advice I ever received from an investor: Investors big or small are not
investing in your past or idea they invest in people and more importantly
people they like. Don’t be afraid to tell your true story of failure and
triumph. You want people watching your video to relate to you enough
that they want to open up their wallets and fund you.
19. ROI= Damn Good Pledge
Gifts
If you are not offering equity in your business people still want to know
what they are getting in return for their investment aside from helping you
build your business. Offering exclusive gifts that don’t cost you much but
can be really valuable to your backers can really make the difference
between being funded at 25% and being funded at 500%.
You must get Super Creative!

21. Superwoman... How are you
going to change the world?
Don’t just ask for money to add change to your pocket aim to build a company
that will also change your community and change the world. Once you’ve been
funded set aside $20+ a month to help fund other crowd funding projects.
