Age?
To get a better understanding of who my
audience is and what knowledge they
know about advertorials, I created a
questionnaire for my class members to fill
out as they are within the target audience
range. The first question I asked was their
age, I did this because I wanted to
double-check that my class members are
within the target audience range even
though I know they are, I still needed
proof of this.
Gender
The next question that I asked was
their gender, I asked this because I
wanted to know the percentage of
males and females in my class, I did
this mainly for my audience profile.
Which one do you
prefer?
The third question that I asked was what
device they prefer to use, the options
were phone, camera or both. Of the 6
responses, 50% of the responses
preferred to their phone, 33.3% of the
responses preferred to use a camera and
16.7% preferred to use both devices. I
asked this question because I wanted to
know what devices people prefer to use
so that I could understand their main
choice for taking photos on.
Do you have a
camera?
The fourth question that I asked was if
they have a camera before. I asked this to
understand whether or not people liked
using cameras, this question links in with
the last question as it makes me
understand that those who have a
camera are more likely to use their
camera instead of their phone.
Have you ever used a
camera? (either in/outside
college)
The next question I asked was if they
have even used a camera before whether
it be in college or outside of college. I
asked this because I wanted to
understand if my classmates had
experience using a camera so that I could
understand how we have taken my
photos and how I have tried to get my
personality and creativity out through the
camera lens.
What do you
think is a
journey?
The next question that I asked
was what they think a journey is.
Out of the responses that I got; I
understand that many people
think that a journey is only when
you travel somewhere, and only a
few understand that is also
personal growth or an experience
in life.
Do you prefer lots of
writing or lots of
images on/in a
magazine?
The last question that I asked was
whether they preferred to have more
writing or more images on/in a
magazine. I asked this to understand
what my audience prefers to see in a
magazine, and this also tells me what
makes a magazine appealing to them. A
lot of the responses said they prefer to
have more images than writing and only
a couple said a bit of both, this will help
me decide how my magazine and print
advert will look like.
