8. Guadix has got many beautiful monuments, 14 churches, a Moorish fortress, an
original cave quarter and a fantastic cathedral. It is beautiful. It has got a tall
bell tower and Renaissance and Baroque styles.
9. In the city centre, there is a beautiful cathedral. In front of the bell tower, there
is a big roundabout with a fountain in the middle, surrounded by flowers.
10. In the centre of Guadix, there is also a park. Pedro Antonio de Alarcón Park.
11. Alarcón is the most famous writer born in Guadix. His best tale is The Three-
Cornered Hat, El sombrero de tres picos.
12. In Medina Olmos Street there are lots of shops, some cafés and many banks. I
like going shopping.
13. I am from Guadix. Guadix is a small town in the ? (no video) of Spain. In
Andalusia.
14. This is Las Palomas Square, which looks like a Castillian square. Palomas
means “doves”.

town market.
16. That is the town hall. It has got a lovely balcony.
17. This is the church of Santiago ( Saint Jack). The plateresque front is the work
of Diego de Siloé. The blue and green tiled bell tower is very colourful.
18. This is the palace of the Marquises of Peñaflor. It is the best example of the
christian noblemen´s houses in the 16th century. Its balcony offers a beautiful
view.

20. El Conde Luque Square was the Roman forum.
21. This is Santa Maria del Buen Aire Street. It is said the most beautiful street of
Guadix.
22.These are the remains of the Roman theatre.
Many people live in caves in Guadix. The landscape of cave hills is original.
