What is Three Year Old Kindy
This is a educational programmed for pre-kindergarten children aged 3
and 5 years. The programmed helps to develop independence and
creativity by offering interesting and fun activities that are
developmentally appropriate in a semi structured form. The
programmed follows a routine similar to a kindergarten and the
children are left in the care of a Qualified Child Care Professional and
Assistant for the duration of the session

What does the Programmed Offer
The focal point is to promote a caring and relaxed environment for each child in the group whilst providing an educational program
presented in an enjoyable and informal manner. the programmed has been developed to provide a balance of indoor and outdoor
activities that a child may chose to participate in. It is designed to stimulate and provide for the development of each child's social,
cultural, physical, emotional, intellectual, language and creative potential.
Portfolio
Folio activities are planned each week. All children are encourages to participate. All work completed by the children is paced in a folio
and given to you at the end of the year as a keepsake. It is a wonderful display of their progress over the year.
Themes
Each programmed is run over a fortnight and has a theme. The theme is incorporated into the programmer to encourage discussion
about the different topics.
Parent Roster
Parents are encouraged to participate in the programmed by volunteering time to assist in the class. Parents help by preparing morning
or afternoon tea and assisting with activities.

Activities,Activities developed to help promote the children's emotional, physical, social and intellectual needs
Session Times
The children attend two sessions a week, one morning and one afternoon session. The kindy operates during school terms only.
Morning session: 9am to 11:15am
Afternoon session: 2:15pm to 4:30pm

Developing independence
Please talk to your child about school before the first day. Be positive and loving. Do all you can to make your child
happy and confident about separation. The staff are experienced and know how difficult this can be. They will do all
they can to help your child settle without too many tears.
Adjustment is easier for the child and staff after the parents leave, so show by your words and actions that you are
sure that school is a happy place, say a cheerful goodbye and leave. Your confidence will transfer to your child and
thus instill a sense of security. If your child is upset and clinging, make a quick exit and ring us later if you are
concerned. Children usually settle quickly and happily.
The Developing Child
At this young age, there is a great range of difference between children and the rate at which they mature. Some
children will be ready for the demands of school at four years old while many others will not. It may be that your
child would benefit from a shortened Kindergarten week to begin with; talk to the class teacher about this.
At the end of the day, children should be collected promptly from the Kindergarten by the parent/care known to be
responsible for that child. If you are unable to collect your child for any reason, please telephone the school office.
Some suggestions for Kindergarten preparation
It is helpful for your child if he/she is able to:
repeat his/her given name.
begin to recognize his/her name on belongings (written in lower case letters i.e. Sarah not SARAH);
undo school bag, screw drink bottle lid, put on lunch box lid;
take off, put on outer garments, shoes;
use toilet by his/herself and wash hands;
use a hanky or tissue if required;
help to put things away.
Learning through Play
Although teaching at this age is based on a curriculum framework, it is important to remember that children at this
age learn best by doing and playing. The children in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will spend much of the time
playing in a wide variety of situations, either individually, in peer directed activities or staff directed activities. Every
play experience acts as a building block for learning. Play has been described as 'a child's work'. It is a natural form of
expression, giving individual opportunities for:
practicing co-operation;
resolving conflicts;
solving problems;
putting themselves in other people's places;
becoming aware of other people's feelings;
enjoyment.
Play for young children is not recreation activity... It is not leisure-time activity nor is escape activity....Play thinking
time for young children. It is language time. Problem-solving time. It is memory time, planning time, investigating
time. It is organization-of-ideas time, when the young child uses his mind and body and his social skills and all his
powers in response to the stimuli he has met.
Often, children do not look as if they are doing much when they are playing, but remember:
when children are in the sandpit playing with sand they are learning about size, volume, texture, testing ideas and
working together;
when children are playing on the floor with construction toys they are learning about concentrating, measuring,
choosing appropriate materials, patterns, investigating and experimenting;
when children are playing with the play dough they are learning about manipulating materials, sharing with others,
making comparisons, using their imagination, appreciating the work of others and communicating.
Learning through Play
First-School features free fun preschool lesson plans, educational early childhood activities, printable
crafts, worksheets, calendar of events and other resources for children of preschool age. The
preschool crafts, lesson plans and activities are appropriate and adaptable for toddlers, preschoolers
(ages 4 to 5).
Activities
How to use and have fun in First-School:
First, look at the suggested list of materials in the Preschool Materials section that will be needed to
do the preschool activities and crafts. Most materials are around your home and are recyclables!
Preschool Themes section and choose themes, lesson plans, printable crafts and activities to tailor
your calendar of activities and curriculum.
Special holiday activities and celebrations to your monthly activities.
Pre-Kindy Fees
MAS KIDS Pre-Kindy fees are $10 per day. Fee installments can be made as
follows:
• Option A: Fees are paid up-front for the year
• Option B: Fees are paid up-front for the term
• Option C: Monthly payments commencing the first week of term 1. These
payments are to be made using cash ,cheque or online banking
It is important that you notify the school office at the beginning of the year,
before the first due date, of the payment option you intend to use.
Variation from a pre-arranged payment plan would need to be arranged with the
Principal.
Payment may be made by cash, cheque or direct debit.

  • 2. What is Three Year Old Kindy This is a educational programmed for pre-kindergarten children aged 3 and 5 years. The programmed helps to develop independence and creativity by offering interesting and fun activities that are developmentally appropriate in a semi structured form. The programmed follows a routine similar to a kindergarten and the children are left in the care of a Qualified Child Care Professional and Assistant for the duration of the session Learning for Nature Learning for Tomorrow Character For Eternity

What does the Programmed Offer The focal point is to promote a caring and relaxed environment for each child in the group whilst providing an educational program presented in an enjoyable and informal manner. the programmed has been developed to provide a balance of indoor and outdoor activities that a child may chose to participate in. It is designed to stimulate and provide for the development of each child's social, cultural, physical, emotional, intellectual, language and creative potential. Portfolio Folio activities are planned each week. All children are encourages to participate. All work completed by the children is paced in a folio and given to you at the end of the year as a keepsake. It is a wonderful display of their progress over the year. Themes Each programmed is run over a fortnight and has a theme. The theme is incorporated into the programmer to encourage discussion about the different topics. Parent Roster Parents are encouraged to participate in the programmed by volunteering time to assist in the class. Parents help by preparing morning or afternoon tea and assisting with activities. also includes; Home Corner, Puzzles and Books, Story and Language, Art Activities, Outdoor Activities, Music and Songs, Snack Time, Folio Activities,Activities developed to help promote the children's emotional, physical, social and intellectual needs Session Times The children attend two sessions a week, one morning and one afternoon session.   • 5. Developing independence Please talk to your child about school before the first day. Be positive and loving. Do all you can to make your child happy and confident about separation. The staff are experienced and know how difficult this can be. They will do all they can to help your child settle without too many tears. Adjustment is easier for the child and staff after the parents leave, so show by your words and actions that you are sure that school is a happy place, say a cheerful goodbye and leave. Your confidence will transfer to your child and thus instill a sense of security. If your child is upset and clinging, make a quick exit and ring us later if you are concerned. Children usually settle quickly and happily. The Developing Child At this young age, there is a great range of difference between children and the rate at which they mature. Some children will be ready for the demands of school at four years old while many others will not. It may be that your child would benefit from a shortened Kindergarten week to begin with; talk to the class teacher about this. At the end of the day, children should be collected promptly from the Kindergarten by the parent/care known to be responsible for that child. If you are unable to collect your child for any reason, please telephone the school office. Some suggestions for Kindergarten preparation It is helpful for your child if he/she is able to: repeat his/her given name. begin to recognize his/her name on belongings (written in lower case letters i.e. Sarah not SARAH); undo school bag, screw drink bottle lid, put on lunch box lid; take off, put on outer garments, shoes; use toilet by his/herself and wash hands; use a hanky or tissue if required; help to put things away.
  • 6. Learning through Play Although teaching at this age is based on a curriculum framework, it is important to remember that children at this age learn best by doing and playing. The children in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will spend much of the time playing in a wide variety of situations, either individually, in peer directed activities or staff directed activities. Every play experience acts as a building block for learning. Play has been described as 'a child's work'. It is a natural form of expression, giving individual opportunities for: practicing co-operation; resolving conflicts; solving problems; putting themselves in other people's places; becoming aware of other people's feelings; enjoyment. Play for young children is not recreation activity... It is not leisure-time activity nor is escape activity....Play thinking time for young children. It is language time. Problem-solving time. It is memory time, planning time, investigating time. It is organization-of-ideas time, when the young child uses his mind and body and his social skills and all his powers in response to the stimuli he has met. Often, children do not look as if they are doing much when they are playing, but remember: when children are in the sandpit playing with sand they are learning about size, volume, texture, testing ideas and working together; when children are playing on the floor with construction toys they are learning about concentrating, measuring, choosing appropriate materials, patterns, investigating and experimenting; when children are playing with the play dough they are learning about manipulating materials, sharing with others, making comparisons, using their imagination, appreciating the work of others and communicating.

Learning through Play First-School features free fun preschool lesson plans, educational early childhood activities, printable crafts, worksheets, calendar of events and other resources for children of preschool age. The preschool crafts, lesson plans and activities are appropriate and adaptable for toddlers, preschoolers (ages 4 to 5). Activities How to use and have fun in First-School: First, look at the suggested list of materials in the Preschool Materials section that will be needed to do the preschool activities and crafts. Most materials are around your home and are recyclables! Preschool Themes section and choose themes, lesson plans, printable crafts and activities to tailor your calendar of activities and curriculum. Special holiday activities and celebrations to your monthly activities.

  • 9. Pre-Kindy Fees MAS KIDS Pre-Kindy fees are $10 per day. Fee installments can be made as follows: • Option A: Fees are paid up-front for the year • Option B: Fees are paid up-front for the term • Option C: Monthly payments commencing the first week of term 1. These payments are to be made using cash ,cheque or online banking It is important that you notify the school office at the beginning of the year, before the first due date, of the payment option you intend to use. Variation from a pre-arranged payment plan would need to be arranged with the Principal. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or direct debit.
