Whenever I am asked what is the thing that I like the most about my job, my answer is always the same: to proactively report issues at the earliest stage possible.
Besides linguistic skills, any competent linguist should always work having in mind all the stakeholders of the translation/localisation process: the project, the team, the budget, the managers, the client and the end-customer.
As a Spanish native speaker specialized in software, websites and video games translation, localization, proofreading, review, editing and testing, I truly believe that in order to sell apps, games or digital services globally, international companies need experts on their local markets.
