It was written for England
It was written in 1215
It took most of the power from the Kings, if they
wanted to tax they had to get permission from
parliament.
It was a written law, that everyone had to follow
and no one was above the law.

3. Glorious Revolution
It took place in England, in 1688.
William of Orange took over.
The English Bill of Rights changed the power of
the Kings.

4. The English Bill of Rights
It was written in 1689
Prohibited the monarch from suspending laws and
levy taxes.Monarchs couldn't raise an army in a
time of peace.Roman Catholics couldn't be king
or queen.The king couldn't dictate cruel and
unusual punishment.

5. The Enlightenment
It was a cultural movement in 18th century
Europe. It helped people discover the world.

6. Charles-Loius Montesquieu
He was from France.
He was famous for
articulation of the theory
of seperation of power.

7. John Locke
He was from England.
1632-1704.
Rights which people possess by nature. We have
the right to defend ourself and nature.

8. Jean Jacques Rousseau
He was from Geneva
1712-1778
Principles of Political Rights. Intended to explain
appropriate relations between individuals.
