The project situation / challenge
Emma was an IT professional. Having experienced her first management role, she was keen to
secure a new leadership role. The role she was applying for had a core focus on leading a team of
Solution Architects. She had become aware of an opportunity via a contact. She had received the
feedback that management had found that previous manager was a good Architect, but did not have
the soft skills to lead the team.
Explanation of choices for document style and information inclusion
The key strategy was to draw her soft skills, without diluting her technical ability. She has strong
testimonials so I looked at integrating these to further support her unique combination of technical
and soft skills (which were a key requirement in the position). As Emma is based in Australia, all
technical requirements and spelling are reflective of Australian requirements.
Job seeker results
Emma secured an interview, and ultimately was offered the position. She is currently in the
probationary period of her role.
