Polar bears are endangered due to melting sea ice in the Arctic Circle caused by global warming, reducing their habitat and ability to hunt seals. If polar bears go extinct, it could disrupt the entire Arctic food chain. There are currently estimated to be only 22,000 polar bears remaining.
