drinks are forbidden (haram)

For example pork and
alcohol.

Our Lord has forbidden eating pork in
definitive terms in Qu’ran. So, the majority of
the Muslim population don’t eat pork.It is
very difficult to find pork in Turkey. It is only
available in touristic cities.

6. Intoxicants were forbidden in the Qur'an
through several separate verses revealed at
different times over a period of years because it
was said that people could not pray properly
under the effect of intoxicants.

7. Muslims interpret these verses in total to forbid
any intoxicating substance -- whether it be
wine, beer, gin, whiskey, or whatever. The
result is the same, and the Qur'an outlines that
it is the intoxication, which makes one forgetful
of God and prayer, which is harmful.But
Muslims are not sensitive to intoxicants as they
are to the pork, especially in special occasions.

substances -- (paraphrased) "if it intoxicates in
a large amount, it is forbidden even in a small
