3. From my preliminary task (creating a
college magazine) I think I have
progressed massively in designing and
applying conventional features to the
front cover, contents page and double
page spread.

4. Question 5
In my preliminary task, when designing my
college magazine I didn't’t realize and
appreciate the importance of different fonts,
images, embedded messages and colours.
So therefore my colour scheme and images
used were randomly selected and weren't
particularly appealing to anyone specific. I
also only used basic conventional items like:
masthead, date, issue number, barcode,
main image and sell lines.
5. So from the preliminary task I have learnt the
importance of the codes of colour, the style of
font and the poses used in the images.
Now in my evaluation task I use a variation of
poses like over the shoulder, super smiler and
invitational. Since my target audience is 11 to
16 females the images used have to be
appropriate.
6. I then do research into what certain colours
represent and what they are associated with.
This helped me with my choice of colours for
my magazine.
