made of two words: the paraplegic and the Olympics.

were organised some
weeks after the Olympic
Games. From that time
they have been organised
in the same country,

to set up the Paralympic Games. Finally, they were
held in two places: Stoke Mandeville and New York.

One of the most famous
Hungarian paralympic contestants
is Dóra Pásztory. She was born
with immature arms. She started
swimming when she was 6 years
old.
She won one gold and one bronze
medal in Sydney in 2000. 4 years
later in Athens she won one gold
and two silver medals.
