1. Contextual teaching
learning (constructivism)
In the contextual teaching learning, the
student will learn well if what is learned
relatedc what is already known and with
activities or event that happen arround
them
The characteristics of
contextual teaching
learning are:
• Contains real experience
• The existence of social interaction
• Estabilishment of enfironmental sensitivity
(sense making)
• More attention to prior knowledge
2. Quantum Learning
Quantum Learning is a body of knowledge
that incorporates various methods and
principles designed to facilitate a shift in
learning. The program has shown to generate
significant gains over traditional approaches
to teaching and learning. Results are both
observable and measurable, using a variety
of research designs that have been rigorously
validated. Quantum Learning processes
enable students to learn more in less time,
with greater ease and engagement, resulting
in higher achievement and far greater
sustained learning.
The purpose of quantum
learning method:
• To create an effective learning
environment.
• To create a fun learning process.
• The brain’s ability to adjust to what is
needed by the brain.
• To help improve the life and career
success.
• To help speed up the learning
The advantages:
• Quantum learning stem from cognitive psychology, rather than
quantum physics and the term affliction, although the
quantum concept is used.
• Quantum learning focused on quality and meaningful
interaction, not just the meaning of the transaction.
• Quantum Learning accelerated learning so much emphasis
on a high level of success.
• Quantum Learning has a model that combines the learning
context and content.
• Quantum Learning focuses on the formation of academic
skills, life skills, and physical or material accomplishments.
• Quantum learning place values and beliefs as an important
part of the learning process.
• Quantum Learning prioritizes diversity and freedom, not
uniformity and order.
• Integrate the totality of quantum learning body and mind in the
learning process
The disadvantages:
• Requires real experience
• Long enough to motivate the learning
• Difficulty of identifying the skills students
3. INTEGRATED LEARNING
Integrated learning is a model that can
colaborated with several materials. The
learning experience addresses content
and skill expectation from two or more
subjects. Integrated learning makes
addressing curriculum manageable by
offering a means of addressing many
subject expectations in a meaningful way.
Tips for Teachers
• Most subject areas provide interesting topics and
teachable moments to address literacy &
numeracy.
• Team – teaching allows colleagues to break down
artificial subject barriers and present students with
a more authentic experienceof how knowledge is
built and problems are solve.
• Better still, a thematic teaching approach can unite
curriculum and colleagues around a single topic
and in doing so help students gain deeper
understanding.
• Children’s literature can be an excellent vehicle for
integrating subject and curriculum.
Advantages :
1. Connections
– Helps students understand connections and how
to connect
– Draw connections from the real world
– Makes connections through a common them
– Focuses the learner on the mastery of objectives
/ overall goals
2. Variety within learning
– Keeps students engaged through making learning
activities fun / variety
– Teacher is able to be creative, authentic, and
original
– Can integrate all subject and use literacy within
those subject
3. Classroom culture
– Students have choice in what they learn –
topic choice
– Utilizes collaborative and cooperative learning
– Creates a community of learners
4. Curriculum advancements
– Technology in the classroom
– Time savers – teaching multiple subjects at
one time
Disadvantages :
1. Interest issues
– Some students may lose interest
– Student / teacher could become bored with one theme
– Not participate due to low motivation or interest
– Content issues
2. Students miss a day – may miss the connections
– Finding enough resources / information to cover every
aspect of the topic
– Intertwining the benchmarks within that one topic may be
difficult
3. A turn with classroom culture
– With student choice – may cause arguments, unwilling to
want to be involved because t wasn’t there first choice
4. PAIKEM Method
PAIKEM stands for Active Learning,
Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Fun. Active
means that the learning process the teacher must
create an atmosphere such that active student
asked, questioning, and put forward the idea.
Learning is an active process of learners to build
knowledge, not a passive process which only
received lectures running on science teachers. If
learning does not provide the opportunity to play
an active role of students, learning is contrary to
the nature of learning. The active role of the
students is very important in order to build a
creative generation, which is capable of producing
something for the benefit of himself and others
Characteristics of PAIKEM
• Centered learning (student-centered)
• A fun learning (learning joyfull)
• Learning oriented to achieve certain
capabilities (competency-based learning)
• Studied extensively (mastery learning)
• Continuous learning (learning
continuously)
• Learn at all today and all disinian
(contextual learning)
Excess of PAIKEM
• Pakem learn life skills development.
• In the grip of students learn to work together.
• Pakem encourage students to produce creative work.
• Pakem encourage students to go to achieve success.
• Pakem appreciate the potential of all students.
• Program for school meningkatkat grip should be
improved quantity and quality.
• Participants will termotovasi didk to learn because of
variations in the learning process.
• Learners can further develop their own.
• Learners tidakjenuh with pembelajarn in class.
• Learners can solve the problem by using the
surrounding environment.
• Mental and physical learners will be honed optimally.
Lack of PAIKEM
• Individual differences of students have not been
considered, including male / female, smart / less
intelligent, social, economic, high / low.
• Grouping students still in terms of seating
arrangements, student activities often do not reflect
the true cooperative learning.
• Teachers do not have the opportunity to watch a good
grip study.
• Displays of student work often displays tend to be
uniform.
• Learning is often in the form of charging student
worksheet (LKS) is mostly closed question.
• Teachers should prepare to learn more than just
lectures, equipment and material needed also to apply
this learning.
• The teacher should be able to cover all the needs of
5. Collaborative Learning
From Wikipedia Collaborative
learning is a situation in which two or more
people learn or attempt to learn something
together.
Collaborative learning is an umbrella term
for a variety of educational approaches
involving joint intellectual effort by students,
or students and teachers together (Smith,
B.L., and J. MacGregor: 1992).
Findley(1987) Collaborative learning is a
situation in which two or more people learn or
attempt to learn something together
The characteristic of
collaborative learning
• Positive interdependence
• Individual accountability
• Face-to-face promotive interaction
• Appropriate use of collaborative skills
• Group processing
There are some benefits of
collaborative learning, they are :
• Develop higher level thingking skills
• Increases student refention
• Builds self esteem in students
There also some disadvantages
of collaborative learning, they
are :
• It is difficult for the teacher to be sure that the
groups are discussing the academic content
rather than something else.
• Higher ability students may not experience
the stimulation or challenge that they would
with other higher ability students.
• Lower ability students may feel perpetually in
need of help rather than experiencing the role
of leader or expert relative to the others in
their group
