Background Of Artist
In 2007 Rita had her first Music release, featuring in Craig David’s single “Awkward” and then again in
2008 once again in Craig David’s song “Where’s your love”. She began singing in Bars around London
when in 2009 A&R had told Roc Nation about Ora and a few days later she flew out to New York to
meet the owner of Roc Nation, Jay Z. She sang and he signed her onto his record label. On 14 th
December 2011 Rita released a song with Dj Fresh “Hot Right Now” on YouTube. The single was fully
released on 12th February 2012, which reached No.1 in the UK singles chart.

2. Rita Ora is becoming very well known within the year 2012. Although she
looks very feminine she wears quite a masculine wardrobe, wearing Duts,
Trainers and Biker/Bomber jackets. As you can see in the image to the
right, her Outfits can sometimes look a little too strange but sometimes
this can be a reason for her audience liking her making her look different
and very original to others.
The song we have chosen to do as a music video is “Young, Single and
Sexy” which came from the her new deluxe album “Ora” which was
released 27th August 2012.
Narrative
The music video will be about a girl who is in love with a boy the further
into their relationship they are the more the girl realizes that he is a cheat
and a liar. She catches him in the park with another girl and he ignores
her phone calls and texts. Her friends try to cheer her up and in the end
she realizes that she doesn’t need him so they head to the beach for the
party and in the end he realizes what he has lost.

3. The Music Video
Rita Ora hasn’t actually produced a music video for this song this is
why we feel it was a good idea to use it because it is a blank canvas and
we can use our own initiatives without being influenced by the actual
video. For our music video we have decided to use a few locations so
that we can jump to scenes making the video exciting and keeping the
audiences attention. Firstly to go with the lyrics “with my dress and my
lipstick on” we will have Kayleigh Johnson who is going to play Rita in
the video. In a bedroom setting, dressed up as if she is waiting for him.
The next shot will be of a girl with the Boy character, which will be played by “James Siggens” with the
lyrics “The one from the park with the pink heels on” . For the chorus we have decided on a beach
scene with the main character and her friends.
Location’s
First of all we will use a bedroom shot of the main character showing her dressed up waiting for her
boyfriend in the end he doesn’t show up, she will look upset by this.
We will also be using the college studio where the main character (Kayleigh) will be acting to the
camera in our aim to relate to the audience of the video.

4. We are also aiming to use the beach as one of our shots in the video where she goes to party and
forget about the boy.
The Costume
The costumes we have decided on will be a dress for most of the video. We may change this outfit so
she has 2 different dresses on
throughout the video. Also like Rita Ora
we will be using a lot of jewelry
specifically gold chain’s as this is what
she usually wears in her music videos.
Shots
A lot of the shots we aim to use will be
close ups of the artist as I feel this is what is used a lot in the R ‘N’ B genre. Also following the Andrew
Goodwin’s theory of focusing mainly on the artist with a variety of shots.
