1. Self-Exhausting Pleasures
 Self-Exhausting Pleasures-pleasures
that, once a person experiences them, one
tends not to want to do so again, even in the
very distant future
 Ex. climbing Mt.Whitney, in order to prove to
yourself that you can do it.


2. Repeatable Pleasures
Repeatable Pleasures-one finds the pleasurable
experience satisfying when it occurs, but also
wishes to have more of the same in the future
Ex. sex, eating fine meals and drinking fine
wine, listening to beautiful music, seeing great
art
We also identified certain intellectual pursuits, or
perhaps artistic performance of some sort
