MY CURRENT IDEAS
 My current ideas for my magazine consist of wanting to do a subgenre of heavy metal. I plan on making a similar magazine to Metal
Hammer but with more upcoming artists rather than very famous ones.
 I am thinking of a few Mastheads right now, the two I like the most
would be “Thrash Time” and “Jam Attack”
 It will feature artists such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, While
She Sleeps ect but also ones that aren't as known.

THE INSTITUTION
 There are a few Magazine Producers that would be interested in
creating the magazine I have chose to produce, for example TeamRock
because they already have an existing magazine for the rock/metal
genre, however, its only for big artists and not upcoming, so my magazine
is different.
 Bauer would also be interested in my magazine as the produce over 50
different magazines, however they do not do a Upcoming Rock and Metal
Magazine meaning there is a gap in the market.

TARGET AUDIENCE
 My desired audience would be a niche group ageing 14+. I think
that I desire a niche audience because then I can be more personal
with the magazine and try and please a small number, rather than
having to make it very mainstream so many people like at least one
part.
 The target audience is also for more of an alternative group of
people who enjoy heavier music and who are into the metal scene.

STYLE OF THE MAGAZINE
 The style of my magazine will be chaotic , however organized enough to be able
to tell what you are reading.
 The mode of address I will be using will be Informal as I think it will connect
with the audience in a more personal way.
 My thoughts on Housetyle at this moment are a use of Black, Yellow and Red
and they all complement each other well and stand out.
 I will represent the Genre by using colours, fonts and photographs that
correspond well with what is assumed to be the metal scene e.g. Blacks, Reds, Men
with beards ect.

POSSIBLE NAMES
 “Thrash Time” – I think this would be a good idea because Thrash
is a type of metal so it connects to the magazine well.
 “Jam Attack” – This was my second idea because when playing
music in the metal or rock scene, a lot of people call in jamming or
something along those lines.

THE MUSIC I WILL COVER.
 The music I have planned to focus on is Metal and Rock.
 These were my ideas because they are subgenres that I listen to
and read about everyday so I know a lot of the current music that is
around that is both well known and upcoming.
 Because I love the subgenres that I have chosen I will also be more
eager to produce the needed sections of work as I have a key interest
in them.

MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD.
 Currently my ideas for my double page spread are to do an interview
with a Metal Band that I personally know and have talked to a lot.
 This will feature pictures of the band, Quotes from them, Individual
pictures of the members etc..
 I will also use a similar House Style to the front cover and contents so
that the magazine all fits in well together and doesn't’t look too chaotic.
