3. Our philosophy
When considering new tech/tools, always start with a
understanding of what you need to do
How are you currently doing this thing?
What aspects are working well?
What aspect do you want to improve?
33. Don't forget about your existing tools!
Have you fully explored what your existing tools can do?
ex: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Often easier to accomplish a given task with an existing tool
rather than have one more tool/app to worry about.
Don't forget about your OS and your computer!
Getting better at the basics will have an impact on everything else you do
Try to regularly learn something about your existing tools.
34. Risks of using third-party services
How safe is your personal information/data?
Private?
Secure?
Can be archived? Preserved?
What kind of support do you have if something goes wrong?
Collaborative tools: are other users forced to sign up?
Remember: what is ok for you might not be ok for work!
