This document outlines the course objectives, content, and schedule for a Medical Social Science postgraduate course on the use of computers and statistics. The 12-week course aims to provide an understanding of using computers and statistics in medical social fields and other clinically related areas. SINOPSIS KURSUS:
Matlamat kursus ini ialah untuk memberi kefahaman dan pengetahuan terhadap kegunaan komputer dan statististik di
dalam bidang sosial perubatan dan bidang-bidang lain yang berkaitan secara klinikal. Kursus ini juga meliputi
prinsip-prinsip asas pengkomputeraan, perisian-perisian komputer, mengintepretasi dan menganalisa data-data.
OBJEKTIF:
Pada akhir kursus ini calon semestinya berupaya:
1. Menghuraikan istilah-istilah asas yang digunakan dalam pengkomputeraan.
2. Mengetahui jenis-jenis komputer dan bahasa-bahasa yang digunakan dalam pengkomputeraan.
3. Menyenaraikan perisian-perisian lain yang biasa digunakan (Word, Excel dll).
4. Menggunakan komputer dalam pencarian maklumat.
5. Memiliki kemahiran dalam menggunakan perisian-perisian berikut:
- Powerpoint
- SPSS
6. Mengolah dan menyaji data.
7. Menggunakan kaedah mengikhtisarkan data yang sesuai.
8. Menggunakan ujian statistik yang sesuai untuk menganalisa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif.
9. Menggunakan ujian tak berparameter sesuai dengan ciri-ciri data yang diperolehi.
CARA PENGAJARAN
Kursus akan dijalankan secara kuliah, tutorials, tugasan dan praktikal di makmal komputer.
Terdapat 2 sesi setiap minggu yang berlansung selama 2 jam bagi setiap sessi. Kuliah akan diberi pada sesi pertama
dan diikuti dengan tutorial atau praktikal di sesi kedua (rujuk jadual).
Sesi pertama: Selasa: 8.30 – 10.30am
Sesi kedua: Khamis: 8.30 – 10.30am
