How to control Stress?
Goal of Studies
To screen /Train the different batches of MBBS students for
assessment of mental disturbances in their relatives and friends by
using GMHAT.
To find out the impact of various biosocial factors on psychological
morbidity.
To assess and compare the effect of traditional teaching with
integrated teaching in MBBS students with the help of GMHAT/PC.
To find out the feedback of students and faculty teachers about this
Integrated modules with GMHAT.
Outcomes (Batch 2016)
 The response rate for our study was 100 %. Mean age of study
population was 30 years with SD of 1.9 years.
There was male predominance with Male: Female is 4:1.
Maximum participants i.e. 43 (86%) were from urban background.
A positive family history of mental illness was noted in only 16%
participants.
History of stressful event was found positive in 5% and none of
study population had history of delayed milestone and/or history
of epilepsy as summarized.
Outcomes ( Batch 2017 )
A total of 171 responses were reported, out of which 12.3 % study
population suffer from nervousness.
10.8% of study population have palpitation , sweating, trembling and
shaking when nervous.
Concentration of 21.3 % of study population were depressed recently
and cried without any reason.
14.8% participants were trouble in sleeping and on the other hand 16.6
% subject have mixed thoughts.
11.1 % participants were problem with the memory. 18.2 %
participants have psychological and emotional difficulties.
Outcomes( Batch 2018 )
A total Response: 140 participants.
11.7 % participants were suffering from sleeping problems.
24.7 % subjects had bad eating habits when depressed.
17.8% subjects were bothered by pain without any reason.
13.5 % subject when depressed having unusual habits like
check things over and over again.
21.5 % subject afraid of crowds or going out alone.
• GMHAT is easy to use in day to
day practice by practitioners or
even by students to detect
common psychiatric conditions.

Preface
• Medical students play an important role for screening
the mental health status of public.
• So this study was undertaken to screen the hidden cases
of mental disturbances present among MBBS students
their relatives by using GMHAT.
Approach
•Integrated teaching was implemented by
the active involvement of the departments
of Physiology, Medicine and Psychiatry.
•At the end of their training, both groups
were again assessed with a post-test
questionnaire.
Goals of GMHAT
• The post-test mean
scores of the control
group was slightly
higher than pre-test
scores (43±12.5 v/s
48±14) but the
difference didn’t reach
a significant level
(p>0.05).
•Where as the post-test
mean scores of study
group was significantly
higher (p<0.001) than
compared with pre-test
scores (67±15 v/s
39±11.5).

Goal of Studies To screen /Train the different batches of MBBS students for assessment of mental disturbances in their relatives and friends by using GMHAT. To find out the impact of various biosocial factors on psychological morbidity. To assess and compare the effect of traditional teaching with integrated teaching in MBBS students with the help of GMHAT/PC. To find out the feedback of students and faculty teachers about this Integrated modules with GMHAT.
  • 32. Outcomes (Batch 2016)  The response rate for our study was 100 %. Mean age of study population was 30 years with SD of 1.9 years. There was male predominance with Male: Female is 4:1. Maximum participants i.e. 43 (86%) were from urban background. A positive family history of mental illness was noted in only 16% participants. History of stressful event was found positive in 5% and none of study population had history of delayed milestone and/or history of epilepsy as summarized.

Outcomes ( Batch 2017 ) A total of 171 responses were reported, out of which 12.3 % study population suffer from nervousness. 10.8% of study population have palpitation , sweating, trembling and shaking when nervous. Concentration of 21.3 % of study population were depressed recently and cried without any reason. 14.8% participants were trouble in sleeping and on the other hand 16.6 % subject have mixed thoughts. 11.1 % participants were problem with the memory. 18.2 % participants have psychological and emotional difficulties.

Outcomes( Batch 2018 ) A total Response: 140 participants. 11.7 % participants were suffering from sleeping problems. 24.7 % subjects had bad eating habits when depressed. 17.8% subjects were bothered by pain without any reason. 13.5 % subject when depressed having unusual habits like check things over and over again. 21.5 % subject afraid of crowds or going out alone.
  • 35. • GMHAT is easy to use in day to day practice by practitioners or even by students to detect common psychiatric conditions. (Meenu) • GMHAT training of medical undergraduates to resolve the mental health issues play a significant role in NMHP. (Dr Ritesh)
  • 36. • Appropriate and planned mental health training of medical students can significantly improve their clinical skills in recognizing mental health ailments among patients.   • 37. Preface • Medical students play an important role for screening the mental health status of public. • So this study was undertaken to screen the hidden cases of mental disturbances present among MBBS students their relatives by using GMHAT.
  • 38. Approach •Integrated teaching was implemented by the active involvement of the departments of Physiology, Medicine and Psychiatry. •At the end of their training, both groups were again assessed with a post-test questionnaire.
  • 39. Goals of GMHAT • The post-test mean scores of the control group was slightly higher than pre-test scores (43±12.5 v/s 48±14) but the difference didn’t reach a significant level (p>0.05). •Where as the post-test mean scores of study group was significantly higher (p<0.001) than compared with pre-test scores (67±15 v/s 39±11.5).

  3. The study was undertaken with the following aims & objectives in S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur. -To screen the mental disturbances by different batches of MBBS students in their relatives and friends. -To find out the impact of various biosocial factors on psychological morbidity of patients -To assess and compare the effect of traditional teaching with Integrated TL modular teaching in II MBBS students with the help of GMHAT/PC. -To find out the feedback of students and faculty teachers about this Integrated TL modular teaching with GMHAT/PC.

  5. Psycho morbidity among MBBS students there relative is a frequently unrecognized matter. We found that mental health issues training have a significant role in medical undergraduate students. So by appropriate and planned manner mental health training of medical students can be improved. Students as well as faculty had a positive attitude toward this innovation in education using GMHAT/PC in order to improve the skills of diagnosis and better treatment of the mental health patients. This study also showed a model of integrated learning in mental health.
