              body?

• Muscle cramps, back ache, cervical pain,

• sunburn, tanning of skin, sticky skin
• blurred vision, dryness of eye
• headache, insomnia, hypertension, lack of
  concentration, irritability
Muscle cramps

• Prolonged awkward postures
• Muscle stretching and contraction
• Dehydration
• Low levels of certain minerals
    (magnesium,potassium,calcium & sodium)
Back pain

Cervical pain Back ache

• Sitting with a constant • Prolonged sitting and
neck posture for long constant jerky
                                     movements
• Muscles and ligaments
of neck region stretch for • Fatigue of back
    long. muscles and
                                     ligaments.
Back Pain Overview: A Guide for
       Understanding Back Pain
Back pain can take on a wide variety of characteristics:

• The pain may be constant, intermittent, or only occur
  with certain positions or activities

• The pain may remain in one spot or refer or radiate to
  other areas

• It may be a dull ache, or a sharp or piercing or burning
  sensation

• The problem may be in the neck or low back but may
radiate into the leg or foot (sciatica), arm or hand.
                               (sciatica
Back Pain Causes: Overview of
    Conditions That Can Create Back
                  Pain
• Lumbar herniated disc
• Lumbar spinal stenosis
• Degenerative disc disease
• Ischemic spondylolisthesis
• Osteoarthritis (spondylosis)
Lower Back Pain Symptoms and Diagnosis
1.Back Pain Symptoms from a Sprain or Strain

• Pain is usually localized in the low back (doesn’t radiate
  down the leg)

• Pain often starts after lifting something heavy, lifting
while twisting, or a sudden movement or fall

• Pain may include muscle spasms, tenderness upon
  touch

• Pain is less when resting and worse during certain
  activities
2.Chronic Back Pain Symptoms

• Leg pain (sciatica) and possible numbness.

• Pain with certain movement and positions (such as
  bending forward, running).

• Lower back pain, often accompanied by leg pain, which
worsens when standing or walking for long periods.

• Lower back pain that is worse in the morning and in the
evening, and stiffness (usually in older adults).

• Pain that is felt down the legs when walking and standing
upright and that feels worse with more walking and gets
better after sitting down (usually in older adults).
Back Pain Risk Factors: What Can
Increase The Potential for Back Problems?
• Aging .
• Genetics .
• Occupational hazards .
Any job that requires repetitive bending and lifting has a high incidence of
back injury (e.g., construction worker, submarine and sailors , nurse).
Jobs that require long hours of standing without a break (e.g., barber) or
sitting in a chair (e.g., software developer)

• Sedentary lifestyle .
• Excess weight .
• Poor posture .
• Pregnancy .
• Smoking .
The study on smoking and low back pain, which prospectively examined
1,337 physicians who graduated from Johns Hopkins University between
1948 and 1964, followed some participants for more than 50 years.
Researchers discovered that smoking history, hypertension and
coronary artery disease were significantly associated with the
  development of low back pain.
Sun burn
• Constant exposure to sunlight
• Heat scars on skin by over activity of infrared
  rays.
Tanning of skin
• By the action of uv rays
• The melanin content of skin increases.
Sticky Skin
• By constant contact with humid salty wind
• The skin gets sticky and dry.
Psoriasis
• Skin becomes sticky, dry and flaky
  Itching along with oozing
Blurred Vision
• Continuous exposure to salty water, humid
 air and hot sun
Dry eye
• Constant air current attacking the eyes
• Sclera of eye dried up causing painful
 eyelid movements.
Tension Headache
• There is no single cause for it
• Tension headaches are caused by tightened
muscles in the back of the neck and scalp.

This muscle tension may be caused by:
• Inadequate rest
• Poor posture
• Emotional /Mental stress (depression & Anxiety)
• Fatigue
• Hunger
• Overexertion
Insomnia
• Anxiety and headache
Hypertension
• Mental agony and thrill
Lack of concentration
• Anxiety caused by upcoming hurdles
• Constant fatigue.
Irritability
• increased blood pressure
• Agony
Hairfall
• Due to sticky nature of the air,
• Scalp becomes sticky, dry and flaky
Indigestion
• Drastic climatic changes
• Shaky movements
• intake of precooked packed food for days
Mituration difficulties
• Decreased water intake
• Burning micturation
• Symptoms of urinary tract infection.
Respiratory problems
• The air passage dry
• symptoms of breathlessness, cough, nasal catarrh
Sea Sickness:
• The constant shaky movements of the vessel
• The typical smell of sea
• nausea and vomiting
How to get rid from these effects?

• Muscle cramps, back ache, cervical pain,
    fatigue
• Sunburn, Tanning of skin, sticky skin
• Psoriasis
• Blurred vision, dryness of eye
• Headache, insomnia, hypertension, lack of
    concentration, irritability

• We have more time to get fit as we
 get older, but. . . . . .

From our late twenties up to our late thirties, we
spend most of our time on our careers, partners
 and the responsibilities.

As we reach our 50’s and beyond, we generally
 have fewer work responsibilities.

We have more time for exercise. But our bodies
are not the same as they were when we turned
 30.
The main areas that people find deteriorate as they
age are a Loss of Strength
  Poor Balance
  Reduced Flexibility and Stamina.

Everyone can maximize their health and fitness as they
mature by taking time for age-appropriate exercises
  – on top of adapting a healthier diet.

So my focus here when I develop a program for over-
50s is “bang for your buck” – maximum results for
minimum time spent to help slow the aging process.
