5. Background:
Onbobo smartphone platform offers LBS (Location Based
Services) to smartphone users (Android, iOS, Web). It
allows users to hear local news, discounts, reach out to
nearby friends, organize events, and set up social
networks on their mobile devices. In order to show off all
the best things that you can do with onbobo services, and
how they can make your life better, I am planning to You
would start using it because it's convenient, easy and it
brings your dull life so much fun!

6. Theme: A Love Story, nearby
Length: 2 minutes
A dramatic and intense love story. It's interesting to see a
boy and a girl and the chemistry between, rather than
seeing the girl at home alone, going to work, in the office,
searching for a restaurant or going out to a club. Actually
any of these scenes could still be in the film but they'd
much more interesting if carried with a playful note
between two people. Having two people both using the
service could also give a full display but not in an
introduction way...they could be perfectly blended in the
developments of the love story.

8. Abstract:
This graphical user interface and data visualization
mechanism is designed to help users to navigate digital
data either on the screen (Including large, medium, and
small screen sizes) or a simulated virtual three
dimensional environment. Each set of digital data (text
files, music, and any type of user content) is visualized
into 3D data objects (or geometries) that are placed in a
3D environment, where the 3D coordinates of each
object in relation to its environment are specified. And,
each object is programmed to relate itself to its adjacent
objects in terms of LEFT, RIGHT, FRONT, BACK, TOP,
and BOTTOM. Users can use computer input devices
(including mouse, keyboard, multi-touch gestures, or
motion gestures) to control the space as well as the
objects. In this 3D environment, users can turn left or
right to locate data objects, zoom in/out the view, rotate
the object, or navigate to other data objects.

Industry applications
14. Goal 2011:
•
•
•
Offer free designs (visual, product, architecture) to
other charity organizations
Fund raising event: select a production feasible
design solution and produce
Authorize design to sponsors to the produce products
through auction, and distribute the final products to
the Chinese disadvantaged people to enhance the
quality of their life, the productivity and the selfdevelopment.
Examples:
- garbage picking and living: how to transform the human
behaviors to intentionally sort daily waste into reusable
materials. Also, how do garbage pickers make a living out
of their daily behavior? Can design change such
behaviors?
Project
Design for the Disadvantaged
15. Background
A group of research and design professionals have
organized a series of research activities to study the
needs of the disadvantaged groups (street vendors,
migrant workers, garbage collectors, etc.) in China. A
volunteer platform, named D4D (Design for the
Disadvantaged), is built to leverage enthusiastic
volunteers including user researchers, user
experience designers, industrial designers and
architects.
The project was planned to follow a typical UserCentered Design process. The life style and the
issues of the target users are generally very foreign to
the professional designers and researchers. Thus the
first step is to deploy first-hand user research to
understand fundamental requirements. These
requirements then can be systematically translated
into design inspirations. The ultimate goal is to use
these data to improve or create efficient tools or living
space that would help the disadvantaged to live
better.
