Hobsons is a global education solutions company dedicated to helping educators, administrators, students, and families maximize success through every stage of the learning lifecycle. Our solutions serve millions of students across more than 7,500 schools, colleges, and universities worldwide.
Students are the driver of all decisions schools and districts make. As we make decisions, we are driving to help students Plan & Learn; Engage & Enroll; and Progress & Succeed
Hobsons is an education solutions company that helps students progress successfully through each stage of the learning lifecycle:
Plan & Learn - Students use powerful career and personality assessments to learn more about themselves. They develop personalized academic and career plans that are based on their goals, interests, abilities, and learning styles. Teachers and counselors are able to use this information to help students build a framework for success.
Engage & Enroll - When students are ready to research, apply, and enroll in postsecondary education, Hobsons helps students find institutions with the right fit. We also help school counselors manage the college application process.
Progress & Succeed - Helps students stay on track starting in 6th grade to achieve their ultimate goals.

Another way to look at it: Close the gap between students who are eligible for post-secondary education or a career path, and those who are ready to succeed
Schools tell us, and what we’re aiming for, is to help ensure students are ready to succeed in whatever path they choose by the time they leave 12th grade.
And even if schools do the Common Core perfectly, the research shows that there are still areas of readiness that are critical for students to succeed. We’ll get into those more later, but those areas are:
Belief in possibilities
Non-cognitive skills such as time management and adapting to changing circumstances
College Knowledge
Taking ownership over learning
Gallup research has shown that engagement in school is a key predictor of student success
As students see the relevance of their education, they become more engaged
Once students see that what they’re doing is relevant for their future, they will be motivated to engage and advance along their own path
The American Counselor Association says that, on average, counselors have a caseload of 471 students.
The recommended case load is 250:1.
In some states, the average caseload is actually over 1,000:1
Students need help navigating through middle and high school, and learning about their options. And schools need effective ways to help counselors and teachers in providing guidance and direction for students.

Who am I?
Students struggle to identify areas of strength and what interests them.
What do I want to be?
Once students identify skills and interests, they can map those to career fields based.
How will I get there?
Once they finally figure out what they want to do, they have to figure out how they’re going to get there before it’s too late:
Am I taking the right classes?
Do I have the right test scores?
What are the educational requirements?
What additional skills and knowledge do I need?
Are there extracurricular or service opportunities I should be considering?
What about scholarships?
Will I be successful?
Many students are college eligible, but few are truly college ready, as evidenced by the high levels of remediation required.
We need to bridge the gap between college eligibility and college readiness.
Hobsons enables school staff and administrators to:
Provide all students with the same critical college and career information
Identify students needing support (real-time reports)
Access individual student data and goals;
Automate routine tasks such as e-mail, surveys, and submission of college application materials;
Report on progress and measure outcomes of their entire student population;
