2. In Brief Blogcamp Central and Eastern Europe 2008 is an international conference on new media and online start-ups. Founded in 2007, Blogcamp CEE offers open and free barcamp-like event along with investor day, special events and CEE market orientation sessions. Location: Kyiv, Ukraine Dates: October 17–19 2008
7. Region: CEE The region Blogcamp is targeted at is Central and Eastern Europe. This particularly includes: Eastern Europe (Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine), Central Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia), Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) and Eastern Balkans (Bulgaria, Romania). Regional internet markets are known for high growth rates, low integration with global markets, and in some countries including Ukraine still high growth potential and relatively low entrance barrier. Participants who come from outside of the region will represent Western Europe, the US, Caucasus and Central Asia . We expect most participants to be from Ukraine, followed by Russia, Poland, Belarus and Latvia. Blogcamp 2007 was Eastern European focused and had participants from 9 countries.
10. Best Ukrainian blog awards is the very first blog contest in Ukraine with its’ around 200 thousand blogs. Prizes will be presented at Blogcamp's special ceremony. Contestants will be awarded in specific nominations, e.g. best IT blog, best professional blog, best personal blog. Jury consisted of Ukrainian Internet experts and popular bloggers from neighbouring countries will empower authority of the contest and give well-grounded points for contesting blogs.
