                                                    My Personal Life Profile

After you have discovered your most dominant intelligence, your learning styles, and your
personality type, type them below:

My dominant intelligence is: Intrapersonal
My learning style is: Intrapersonal
My personality type is: INTJ (introverted-89, intuitive-25, thinking-12 and judging-69)

Now that you see them all together, think of them as a puzzle and you need to "connect the
dots." In other words, put them all together and what do they look like? What do they mean?
How do they affect your studies, your relationships, your communication skills, and your career
choices?

Example: If Mike's dominant intelligence is interpersonal, his learning style is verbal and his
personality type is ENFJ, connecting the dots may suggest that he is the type of person who
loves to be around other people. He is an extrovert who learns best by listening to other people
or explaining how something is done. He is a person who would probably speak out in class,
be more of a leader than a follower, and someone who would start a study group if one did riot
exist because he is outgoing, organized, and a goal setter. Mike values relationships and listens
to what others are saying. He is a person who shares and does not mind taking the time to
explain things to others. He could easily become a good friend.

Some of the challenges Mike could encounter might involve taking a class where discussions
are rare, haying to sit and never share ideas or views, or having a professor who is not very
organized and skips around. He would not deal very well with peers who are disrespectful and
did not pull their own weight in the study group. He might also have a hard time with group
members or classmates who are very quiet and prefer to observe rather than become involved.
He would have trouble being around people who have no goals and direction in life. He might
also run into some trouble because he is a very social person and loves to be around others in
social settings. Therefore, he may over-commit himself to groups and clubs and on occasion,
he may socialize more than study.

As you can see, by connecting to dots, Mike's Personal Life Profile tells us a great deal about
his strengths and challenges. It also gives him an understanding of how to approach many
different situations.

Now it is your turn. Take your time and refer to your chapter for any information you may need.
Examine your assessments and create your own profile in the four areas listed on the next
page. Discuss your strengths and challenges for each area.
Activity Sheet:
                                                              My Personal Life Profile

THE PERSONAL LIFE PROFILE OF: Katherine Delgado

Academic Strengths: I found that I am very organized; I always love to finish all the
assignments ahead of time. I try to do research about the assigned subject and then I used my
background knowledge I learn better kinesthetic style I prefer to exercise my brain with games,
rewriting and reciting. I always create an image writing or reading so I can relate better.

Academic Challenges: I found that I don’t want my fears to ruin all my goals. I don’t learn
when the professor give speeches to work on, because I’m more worry to try to calm down than
remembering what I have to say. The problem is time because I want to finish quick but my
career is eleven years.

Communication Strengths: I found that I am introverted person so I work better by myself I love
to work alone in a quiet place where I can think clearly. My shyness makes me feel more
comfortable working alone .I prefer to send an email or test to communicate with others I judge
my work and push myself to work better and better alone I prefer to show rather than speak.

Communication Challenges: I found that I am extremely shy so I have a really big problem
communicating with others. If a person is asking me for help about an assignment, I prefer to
give them my paper showing them an idea rather than speaking, I am afraid when the
professors talk about presentations. My fear is to say something wrong, because I’m scare that
people would laugh at me.

Relationship Strengths: I found I receive sometimes opinions like an advice. Yesterday
someone told me to speak more and not to be shy. If I had to work in groups I would like to pick
my group to feel more comfortable. I would give an opinion, to give every member of the team
the same responsibilities. Receiving more opinions could help me think well than only one
head. I would love to be more open with others.

Relationship Challenges: I found that I can’t work in groups because I love to work alone.
Sometimes when the professor assigned a group work they usually pick the groups. Most of the
time the team members are different because some have more time to spend working on the
assignment than the others. So in my personal case, I don’t like to work in groups because I
don’t like the kind of people that procrastinate.
Career Strengths: I found that I love science when I was in high school I had three science
classes in my senior years. What encourages me to study medicine was my anatomy class,
when I open a pig and cat I saw myself spending all my life taking care of kids. My career is
everything to me as I said it’s going to be a lot of work. I’m fascinated with biology is my subject
strength.
Career Challenges: I found that I hate math. My career is based on math and science, since I
was in high school I had a bad teacher from 10th to 12th grade so that discourage me to study
so I leave my weakest subject aside. In winter term I’m going to take math remedial, nothing is
impossible my career takes time and study in order to become a good pediatrician.

Financial Management Strengths: I found that I prefer to save money, even if I don’t have
enough. I’m setting goals about how to get more money from loans, scholarships (even if they
reject me I will keep trying). Ill do whatever to keep my GPA up so I would be able to get more
financial help. I’m not afraid to fail when I received the FAFSA money left I would save it to pay
my classes from summer term.

Financial Management Challenges: I found that I worry too much when I begin thinking
how am I going to pay these 11 years I have on my way to do during my career. Each class is
very expensive plus the books. I would love to work but at what time I would study. I applied for
a scholarship; they reject me because of my SAT/ACT scores. That situation put me down and
made me felt bad. I begin to think that I wouldn’t achieve my goals.
