Cherish the Festivities
India is well known all over the world as a country of cultural
and traditional festivals as it has many cultures and religions.
One can enjoy the festival celebration in India every month.
As it is a secular country full of diversity in the religions,
languages, cultures and castes, it is always crowded with the
people involved in the fairs and festivals celebration. We are
proud to be natives of such a nation which is rich in culture
and heritage and gives us ample opportunities to study varied
cultures in a fun way through the celebration of festivities.
Let’s renounce hatred and celebrate these festivals together
with our hearts brimming with love and harmony for each
other.

Students are the future of the nation. They need guidance and motivation and
they look up to their parents, elders, and teachers for support and motivation.
New Year is around the corner and it is a time of gaiety, galore and fanfare.
The New Year message is the perfect way to motivate students or share a
good thought with them.
So I wish you all a very happy New Year.
May you enter this fresh year leaving aside all your worries and sorrows. May
there only be happiness and glory in your life ahead. May you share your
knowledge with more students and enlighten them to help them have a
brighter future.
I hope that this New Year your desires come true.
Smile is a curve that make everything straight and wipe off your tears. Hope
you got more smiles on your face.

5. Everyone has the right to express oneself. To
inculcate the art of expression, a Hindi
Declamation Competition on the topic Meethi
Vaani was organized for the students of Class
II on 27 November 2017(Monday). Participants
presented their views in an effective manner with
well decorated language using idioms, phrases and
sayings of renowned personalities. They stressed
upon adding politeness in our day to day
conversation as this has eloped from voices of the
new generation. The judges appreciated the efforts
of the participants and applauded them for their
confidence and correct pronunciation. This activity
was an opportunity for the students to showcase
their oratory skills.
6. English Ambassadors from class II to V were
felicitated for showing their exemplary efforts
and participation in the spoken English
campaign initiated by the English Department.
II C, III D, IV B and V A received the English
Ambassador trophies by the Director
Academics, Ms. Geeta Sehgal addressed the
assembly highlighting the importance of
spoken English in the era of globalisation.
7. "When we receive cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is
blessed".
How true it is of a good deed done to society! Modern Public
School celebrated the "joy of sharing" on 7.12.17 (Thursday).
Students of class I happily donated many gifts like pencil boxes,
colours, notebooks, coloured pens to the needy children. This
collection was to encourage responsiveness and awareness
amongst our little ones to make a difference in someone else's
life. It was a heart warming experience as it enabled the students
to emerge from the cocoon of familiar territories and their own
needs to reach out to the needs of others. Students were enriched
with the joy of sharing experience.

8. Flower Day
The beauty of flowers and their myriad
features was celebrated by Preschoolers the
occasion of Flower Day held on November 15,
2017. The students churned out details of
seasonal flowers and their uses, thereby
enhancing their vocabulary.
9. "Handwriting is an imprint of the self

A workshop was organised for the students of Pre
School to Class I by Apsara Pencil on November 29,
2017. The focus of the session was the importance of
good handwriting in a student's life. Correct
techniques of holding a pencil were also demonstrated by
the resource team.

10. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn!
Annual Prize Distribution was held for the Nursery
Department on December 8, 2017. Madam Principal
felicitated the winners for their achievements. Medals
and certificates distributed, added glory and pride to the
12. FAREWELL
The school organized a farewell ceremony for the students of
Class XII on December 8, 2017 to bid adieu to the batch. The
students arrived with utmost excitement dressed into their best
attire for the event. The ceremony commenced with the
Sai Sandhya to seek the blessings of the Almighty.
The day was a perfect blend of smiles, tears and reminiscences. A
movie showcasing their time spent with their teachers and friends
in the school was shown to the students which took all on a
nostalgic ride. The parting moments were extremely poignant for
both teachers and students as tears rolled down their eyes. The
students were advised to focus on their careers and the beautiful
life ahead. It was indeed a wonderful day brimming with happi-
ness, love, sorrow and blessings.
13. Ballad Recitation
An Inter-House English Ballad Recitation
Competition was organised for the students of class IX
on December 7, 2017. The aura was filled with
rhythmic tunes where the flamboyance of their costume
added a cherry to the cake. The judges appreciated
the zeal of the participants that made the whole
gathering rapt in their performances. The participants
recited the well chosen ballads with grace and
sophistication. All the nuances were well captured and
delivered by the young ballad artists.
14. Mathematical
Quiz
To keep this worth of Mathematics intact, an Inter-house
Mathematical Quiz Contest, M Quest was organized for
the students for Class VI on December 5, 2017. The
students participated with great enthusiasm and interest. It
was wonderful to observe budding minds obtaining
answers to mind-boggling questions. The participants were
appraised by the Honourable Director Academics
Ms. Geeta Sehgal for their diligent efforts to make the
contest a huge success. The session contributed greatly in
keeping the spirit and love of Mathematics alive.
15. The Beginning of Formula-1 in
Schools
A workshop on The Beginning of
Formula 1 in Schools was organized on
November 7, 2017 for the students of
classes VI-XII. The resource person
Mr. Tarun Bansal, representative from
Formula1 introduced a STEM based
Miniature Formula1 Car Manufacturing contest and apprised the students with the
motto of the venture with the help of an informative video and a power-point
presentation.
16. Open House on the topics
Cyber Crime and Gender Sensitization
Discussion is the most effective way of sharing knowledge.
Keeping this in mind, an open house was held for the students of
class XI on the topics Cyber Crime and Gender Sensitization. The
resource person was Dr. Anu Singh, NIE Associate, from Times of
India, Honourable Principal, Director Academics and
Vice Principal also graced the session. The session witnessed a valley
of questions regarding the problems faced by the young generation.
Students voiced their opinion on these sensitive issues and shared
their personal experiences. The resource person solved the queries
regarding gender issues and interpersonal conflicts and generated
awareness amongst the children.
17. QUALITY
CIRCLE
With an endeavour to bring solace
with our inner self, Quality
Circle of class IX was held on the
theme ‘Is Gandhian Ideology fading
away?’ on December 12, 2017. The
eloquent orators brought thought
provoking ideologies to the
forefront. The audience was
enthralled by the heart rendering
poetry and skit. They put on their
thinking caps for a short quiz as
well.
18. The school organised an enriching
activity Enact A Poll for the students of
classes VI to VIII. All the students were
enlightened with a presentation on the
election process and its importance in a
democratic country like India. To further
educate the students on the responsibilities of
an aware citizen, a voting session was also
conducted where each student was given an
opportunity to cast his vote. The children
were made aware about the various rules of
the Indian Parliament.

19. Innovation Bus
Showcase
Facebook Shuruaat Bus Showcase driven by Apollo tyres
hosted by Vikram Chandra and presented by NDTV India
was carried out by NITI Aayog on Childrens Day 14
November 2017. The spectacular panel discussion was
based on Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). The
views of different entrepreneurs and eminent personalities
enriched the participants with the thought of being good
mentors and facing the adverse challenges with grit and
determination that an excellent entrepreneurship demands
for. Mr. Amitabh Kant CEO of NITI Aayog quoted, India
must become a nation of job creators, not job seekers.

was conferred with Acharya Devo Bhava, 2017
award by Brainfeed. She became the proud recipient of this
award amongst top 17 final awardees.

MS.DEEPTI MALHOTRA received A momento, a planter
and Rs 20000 cheque prize in a grand event organised by
Action Committee of Private schools. Only 2 teachers
from all over the country received this honour for
outstanding work in Research and Development ,

Moment of Pride
25. Ms. Daisy Aggarwal, the Physical Education teacher of our
school was bestowed with the outstanding Physical
Education Teacher’s Award
26. It is a matter of exuberance and pride for the school as
the senior team of students qualified for the National
level of NCSE (National Childern’s Science Congress)
after competing with over 30 teams at the State level
held at Lodhi Colony, New Delhi on 7 November 2017.
A programme of NCSTC- DST, Govt. of India, NCSC
selected 8 teams from Delhi after a tough competition
and our school was one among them.The team
comprised of Vipul Jain,Vansh Dhall, Apoorv Vats,
Prabhsimar Singh Tapia and Ishan Vohra guided by
the science teacher Ms. Naina Nagpal.
